Fieldfares and autumn leaves. I was thinking it would make a lovely fabric print to make a blouse with! No idea how this is done though!

Thanks again.

Very interested to see what you think of the mine on the right hand leaf in the first photo (and in the subsequent 3 photos).
Have I found Ectoedemia turbidella???!!!
Thanks

Went out this morning targeting Aspen, and pleased to find Ectoedemia argyropeza. Loads of them!
Very easy to spot at the moment.
New for SJ84 and another one I’ve clawed back on the prolific Mr @pertonmoths.bsky.social 😅😅

Last nights trap contained 16 of 12. New for the year was a Satellite, also of interest a Common Quaker well outside its usual flight dates. #teammoth #suffolkmoths

Couple of potentially new mines today at Baggeridge. Ectoedemia quinquella on Oak, Darren Taylor had one last week, but no records showing for Staffs at moment. Think other on Crack Willow might be E.intimella. Again not common in Staffs. @vc28nature.bsky.social do these look ok before I irecord ? 👍

Just 6:6 from last night.
Mumber, December, FT, Turnip, LBAM & Ruddy Streak.

Today I found another site for Phyllonorycter pastorella - this time in the heart of Newcastle-under-Lyme town centre!
They were on a large White Willow (I think) at the back of the Aldi carpark 😆😅

A thoroughly disappointing trap from last night.
Just a LYU and LBAM in the trap. One Silver Y in the ORI lure.
Questioning my sanity in bothering to run the trap at the moment 🙄

Just 15:7 from last night, with 5 Ruddy Streak the most numerous species.
Mottled Umber NFY, Barred Sallow and Brick the best of the rest.
Try again tonight…😑

Stigmella naturnella was discovered only recently in the low countries (nl.pensoft.net/article/99360/) but in my region (Ghent, Belgium) it already seems to be the most common birch #leafminer. It probably spread naturally from S Central Europe. Here's how the mines look.
