SHETLAND trip started well with great views of the 1w male SIBERIAN THRUSH at Loch of Asta. Leaking wellies were an issue for a few on this twitch!😬. Now for a week on Out Skerries.

Another failed attempt to find anything in the gullies yesterday but did manage a patch first...BASKING SHARK sailed south mid-morning. A ringtail Hen Harrier north over the sea was a bonus.

A flock of seven Wood Sandpipers at Potter Brompton Carr today was a nice surprise. A while since I heard a bit of song. Six seemed to leave high west. Be interesting to see if a flock of six turns up somewhere tomorrow.

The Ravenscar "bottleneck" came into its own this morning with a decent southerly finch movement. Highlights 165 Crossbills and 619 Siskins.

An elusive adult Cattle Egret at Potter Brompton Carr this afternoon. Mostly out of sight from the Haybridge viewing area but occasional visits to Bridge Field. Still a rarity in #scarborough , nice find by Steve Hey.

A nice morning visit to Penmon Point, Egyptian Goose, 2 Greenshank, Whimbrel all north.
