Heat pumps done right! 😍

Decarbonization should be profitable to the customer 💸

Don't spend your life savings on a heat pump. Instead, use a heat pump to make savings on your energy bills 😌

This could be a war crime, but given how there isn't a war and these are not combatants, think it's probably better described as a crime against humanity.

The US is bombing fishermen because it's trying to start a war which they hope will bring them profit.
I mean, this is an execution

The past changes so quickly that you don't know what will happen yesterday (previous Tman deadline had been November 27th)
🇺🇸 Trump says there’s no deadline for a deal between Russia and Ukraine. Talks are going well, he added, as negotiations over a revised settlement plan continue.

Merz saying the quiet part out loud, except it stopped being quiet a long time ago:

If Ukraine collapses, a Russo-NATO war is next.

The security of all of Europe depends on Ukraine.
And the security of all of Europe will depend on how this war ends. If Ukraine loses and perhaps collapses, it will affect all of European politics and the entire continent.

That is why we are so actively involved. If there is a chance to achieve peace, it will have consequences for all of Europe.

It’s an insult to peace as a concept to call this a “peace plan”.

You can't assess a long war like this, because industrial capacity can still be developed during the war (see: Ukraine), although the US would be at a disadvantage in the short and medium term
🇺🇸🇨🇳 The Atlantic: The U.S. is likely to lose a long war with China—not because of a lack of bravery, but because of a lack of industrial and technological capacity.

Modern wars are won by nations that can outproduce, out-innovate, and sustain their forces, not by individual valor.

Whenever I say that Russia lost territory in 1991, almost 100% of people tell me that the SU was a union of nations, and therefore Russia did not lose territory in 1991

3 minutes later, the same people tell me that the Ukrainian nation did not exist before 1991

Is there any evidence that the suppressed USD exchange rate is doing anything to help their trade deficit, or does it just show that foreign investors buying assets in the US are asking for a bigger discount than they were before?

I haven't checked, but I suspect it's the latter

When all of the publicly available facts show that nobody has the means to end the war "quickly" (without substantial changes to the military realities), and politicians like Fico and 47 claim otherwise, with 0 arguments, it doesn't mean they know something we don't.

It means they're lying.
October 6, 2025 at 9:05 AM
Every single politician who promised a quick end to the war has gone on to prolong it.

Every single one.

We know that politicians lie. The facts show clearly that the war will not end "quickly". We all know it.

When they tell us otherwise, they're lying. And they know it.
🇸🇰Instead of seeking Russia's defeat, we need to focus on preventing a new war, — Fico

Our goal is to end the war in Ukraine as soon as possible. These are Slavs killing each other. War is not the solution.

I’m scared by how frivolously today they are again talking more about war than about peace.

On the one hand, this sucks for communities of color in the US

On the other hand, this is exactly the kind of internal friction that we want to drive a slow and safe decline of the US, now that returning the US to western civilization is out of the question
The reality is that the US Department of Homeland Security has been openly seized by unapologetic white nationalists who freely indulge in neo-Nazi rhetoric and use their huge and growing paramilitary army to mount massive attacks on communities of color in the US in a campaign of racist oppression

If you want to use tariffs to consolidate the government budget, it means they have to not work at encouraging onshoring

If you want to use tariff revenue to save farmers/whatevers, it means it doesn't go to pay the national debt 1/4

Interesting that as recently as a year ago, whey protein prices were half of casein, but now they're equal

Casein is the protein in cheese, while whey is the byproduct protein of cheese production, traditionally a waste product

This suggests that protein powder demand has skyrocketed

A Russian aircraft over a NATO county already happened years ago and Russia was too scared to do anything.

Blow them up 🚀
"It will be war." - Russian Ambassador to France Alexey Meshkov said on RTL radio that the downing of a Russian aircraft over a NATO country would mean the beginning of a military conflict.

For every decision that Ukraine has ever taken, I have heard important people explain why it was bad, only for Ukraine to keep exceeding expectations and forge strategic advantages out of seemingly nothing 1/3
⚡️ Kursk operation cost was 'too high' for Ukraine, ex-military chief Zaluzhnyi says.

"I don't know the cost of such actions, but it is clear that it was too high," said Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Ukraine's former commander-in-chief.

The cool thing about tourism-based economies is that they always end badly, but while they last, they're also bad 😌

Remember when US tech giants had a months-long PR campaign about how they would be forced to stop hosting user-generated content in the EU if Article 13 of the Copyright Directive passes?

It passed 6 years ago.

What else were the Americans lying to us about?

This is interesting to think about

Kirk repeatedly expressed his belief that gun deaths are an acceptable cost for having an armed population

The average adult male doesn't fear dying for what he believes in, and assuming Kirk was at least as much of a man as the average adult male, 1/3
I do feel very sorry for Charlie Kirk's wife. It is very different when someone was murdered. Even ten years later, you constantly reminded yourself that this person was taken from you every single time you think of them, and then spiral into thoughts of rage. It's a horrible feeling.

Rooftop Solar is the Climate Jackpot ☀️💸

Europe already has tens of billions of euros of tax money earmarked for the climate transition, and I believe that subsidizing rooftop solar is the best way to spend it, by a wide margin

"gave the US only minutes' notice, too late for Trump to stop it"

How do we know that the US didn't order it instead? They sure made it sound like the attack on Iran was ordered by them.
🇮🇱🇶🇦 Israel launched the missile strike on Hamas leaders in Qatar using F-15s and F-35s firing long-range ballistic missiles from the Red Sea, - WSJ

🇺🇸 The plan avoided Arab airspace and gave the US only minutes’ notice, too late for Trump to stop it.

My take on this is getting confirmed. The SAMP-T is an equivalent to the Patriot, at half the price.
🇩🇰 Denmark has chosen European air defence systems over US Patriots in a record $9.1bn deal, citing cost and delivery delays, - FT

❗️The country will buy Franco-Italian SAMP-T long-range systems and one or more medium-range systems from Norway, Germany, or France.

I'm getting pretty blackpilled on planes ngl

Ukraine has had its airspace closed for 3 years with effectively zero downsides

Closing EU airspace indefinitely would enhance national security and energy security, and set the correct incentives to finally solve rail travel properly

As a result of reducing the time I spend arguing with strangers online, I actually forgot that there are people who claim that Musk is a conman

I had no doubt that SpaceX would figure out Starship eventually, also Tesla is the only real EV company and will win autonomy

The US promised that Russia would not attack NATO as long as Trump is president

This illustrates exactly why the US is not able to offer security guarantees: because Russia (and everyone else) will correctly assess that America will not honor its commitments

Finally someone is talking about this. I've been concerned about Chinese inverters for years

I found only one (!) installer offering European-made (Romanian) inverters running Taiwanese software. It should be good in principle, but I'm not convinced
