I love frogs. This is a good one.
Today's frog is Carmelita's robber frog.

Books are the answer, not the problem.
Personally I just really love reading.

But I also adore libraries so go to your library this new year. They have all the books, you can request books and they nearly all have a online service for e books these days. #Libraries2026

Sunrise on Glastonbury Tor this morning. A beautiful start to the day and plenty of people made the climb and were rewarded with a stunning sky.

Take a few deep breaths and look at this lovely photo.
I need to see the mountains. They have always accompanied my life. There is nothing as beautiful as a great mountain.🫠

I love owls. This is an impressive one.
This is the STYGIAN OWL - The Owl With Fiery Orange Eyes! 😱
Native to parts of Mexico, Central and South America, the Stygian Owl is a dark-feathered, elusive predator of the night.

Books are the answer, not the problem.
I've seen a few people posting stuff along the lines of "2026 is the year I'm going to read more!"

My friend, don't pressure yourself. Even as an author, I say this: Read better, not more. Read what you love, stop reading something that isn't working for you. Don't aim for more, aim for pleasure.

A crisp and cold start to the day here in Glastonbury. It was a magical morning watching the moon set over St Michael's tower with belt of Venus colour behind.

Talk about your books, and talk about the books you love. Almost all of the books I read now are from people posting about them on Bluesky. I'll also often pick something up after seeing it discussed on Reddit, and on rare occasions someone I know will rec a book to me privately.

That’s a big dog.
Woke up in 2026 the same way I woke up in 2025: Way too early, with a huge snout in my face. Happy New Year from Oscar’s comically large head. Let’s spend more time outside this year.

Books are the answer, not the problem.
There's nothing we love more than to see independent bookstores thriving. Indie bookstores are essential community hubs and foster a love of reading that is unmatched, and we're proud to be part of the movement that keeps them in business.
