WEAR A MASK PLEASE 🙏🏼

It is literally community care at this point because the Pandemic never ended, one third of the population has Long Covid, they are criminalizing school absence and homelessness and taking away COVID days at jobs. Know what else? Prison = free labor basically.
Want some simple ways to resist fascism?

Wear a mask.
Donate to mutual aid.
Go to a local library.
Support community fridges and food banks.
Plant a garden.
Deliver groceries.
Provide a ride to and from doctors appts.
Participate in neighbourhood ICE watch.

Show up for others.

Apparently Ring doorbell ran a superbowl ad where everyone suddenly figured out that it's a privately owned surveillance service that can find "anyone".

Welcome to the knowledge club, everyone. I did a video about this a month ago, and the news is as old as October when they announced the merger.
So I guess people didn't know this, but if you have a ring doorbell, they recently signed an agreement with flock meaning any officer can access your camera without your knowledge.

They claim they'll notify you, but come on. Given what's going on do you really believe that?

I'm getting out of the hospital today and I could use some help, if you're able. Even taking the time to check it out or share means more than I can say.

Icing on the cake is that hyper-pro police surveillance founder Jamie Siminoff, who recently returned to the CEO roll and dismantled years of privacy reforms appeared in the commercial.

Ok, you can stop texting me, I saw the Ring ad. Troubling things about it 🧵:

-The long awaited (much warned about) intro of “AI” recognition. It starts w/ searching for a “brown dog” but means the tech is there for lisence plate reading, face recognition, searching for suspects by description, etc

As others have said, Bad Bunny's halftime performance highlighted the horrible electricity situation in Puerto Rico. For many, blackouts are a weekly occurrence and the situation has only gotten worse in the last few years.

Earlier this week, there were about 130,000 customers without power.

i think it’s especially heinous that chatgpt and other data processing centers are primarily in low income communities of color, poisoning our their/our environments and come out with a “feel good” commercial about a latine family using their product for their tamales business. die

The event was titled “Wokiksuye” — a Dakota and Lakota word meaning “to remember” or “to call someone back into presence.”

An organizer estimates over 5,000 people attended the memorial at Powderhorn Park. Good’s family was also present.

Friends in Minneapolis are very worried about this development. Both in terms of state police's role in arresting protestors and the worry that this could set off the kind of spiral of distrust and destruction that followed George Floyd's murder.
