Well, to desperately seek a positive, it was one goal fewer conceded than the abject performance at Bristol. And perhaps this will unlock the striker's block that has been afflicting Bishop for a couple of months now.

Won't somebody think of all those poor discarded pine cones currently occupying thousands of NT chairs dissuading visitors from sitting down? What will be their fate?

That's an hors d'ouvre!

Wait until you get to the parts about Meta's approach to parental leave and childcare arrangements.

Seriously though, everyone should read/listen to this book.

So close to being up there too! Ended up on the old Hayling Billy Trail as we fancied food at The Ship Inn as a treat afterwards!

To be fair they could be wearing wetsuits and flippers and it would still be working for them they way we're playing.

I would think so but it's not worked. Balance is all gone with too much defensive emphasis.

Ah! Should never wear away kits at home though.

Why are #Bristol wearing white? Strange.

Ooh, love Jimmy Smith. Chicken Shack is a terrific LP.

I'm doing the same but instead of Quo I am listening to late-period, less well-liked era The Byrds (Dr Byrd and Mr Hyde to be precise!)

Differences between office life and #WFH part 1,312:
Rarely in the office am I asked to reduce the volume of my music due to a child needing to get back to sleep.

Especially when I am on my third cuppa of the day!

A gentle reminder if you've received an invoice from a Freelancer/Self employed person which is due before Christmas.

There will come a date, and we may already have passed it, which people in future will use as a guide whether to buy translated foreign-language books or not.
Hard no to this: French publisher Harlequin has told translators that their work will now be done by AI. They can ‘revise’ AI translations at much lower rate. It’s a subsidiary of Harper Collins so treat this as a test for rollout elsewhere
"Bradage de la traduction, plan social invisible : Harlequin passe à l’IA"

Faites tourner, parce qu'il va falloir se battre encore plus. :/

Not sure Mercury Rev have ever bettered Car Wash Hair. What a track! Top two spot alongside Very Sleepy Rivers for me.

Nothing underlines the utter pointlessness of the Scottish League than seeing fans of the two Glasgow giants bereft at their clubs’ current form.

I was at school when the title last left Glasgow. The sense of entitlement displayed these fans is laughable. At last: competition! Long may it last!

Designed for armchair fans I feel. Those who are not at the game and therefore don't have a matchday programme or real interest in either team.

Yep! I know my own team and couldn't give a shit who the opposition are!

Reminds me of the old Half Man Half Biscuit lyric 'If I were a linesman
I would execute defenders who applauded my offsides' 😆

Well, I'm still not a fan of names on shirts but I think that is now a me problem! And staying with the shirts theme teams wearing away kits when they don't clash, Newcastle, for example v Sunderland last weekend.

Awful news. So sad to hear it.

Agreed but Pompey couldn't even get the communication right about the floodlit failure v Millwall last season so expecting more (from any club) about medical emergencies is probably a waste of energy!
December 6, 2025 at 2:03 PM
How so? Person affected may be a relative of someone on the Charlton squad. It would be nice if Pompey offered some gesture to our travelling fans but despite Bill Shankley's famous saying footy ain't more important than life or, god forbid, death.

If the writer’s eyes light up when asked, “why did the character do that?” then it’s real.
