It’s 2025 and already people can’t tell what’s real because of AI.

In 2028/2029 our elections will be dominated by disinformation at a scale that will be impossible to deal with.

Instead of acting before it’s too late, our governments are embracing the AI tech bros.

This was their response to us:

Buchan said:"I stood for election with the sole aim of working for my community and getting things done for local families. Having had the opportunity to see Reform from the inside, I've concluded that the party doesn't really have the experience or ambition to do that." news.sky.com/story/reform...
Reform councillor defects to Tories after becoming 'uncomfortable' with party
James Buchan said he wanted to be able to "look my family in the eye and say, 'that's not who I am'" after his former party announced plans to scrap indefinite leave to remain.

UK immigration policy directly undermines its R&D policy. Joined up government? This incoherent policy soup is a shambles.
NEW from me:

Political hostility, high visa fees and (in the case of the UK) stagnant incomes are making the UK and US less attractive destinations for top international talent.

That steep decline in the appeal of moving to the US after 2016 is 👀

Farage's motion on leaving the European Convention on Human Rights failed: 154 votes to 96

All 4 @greenparty.org.uk MPs voted against it, because we believe international agreements on human rights are a good thing.

But only 63 out of 401 Labour MPs did:

I looked at UK political parties on Bluesky. Always nice when my party tops a list but fragmentation of platforms may create echo chambers.
Follower counts as of last night:
Green 23.7k
LD 21.5k
SNP 11.3k
Scottish Green 9.8k
Plaid 5.6k
Your Party 894
Reform 630
Con 173, and no posts
Lab - no account

This is a very interesting post. This fragmentation and social media fatigue apply to personal interactions and political discussions too.

Come on Labour. What benefit is there to you of continuing to oppose proportional representation? Your members want it. Other parties that have traditionally missed out want it. Seat predictions are v far from %s. A Reform landslide would not at all reflect what the voters in this country want.
🚨 Estimated seat totals:

➡️ REF – 369 (+364)
🟠 LD – 81 (+9)
🔴 LAB – 50 (-361)
🟡 SNP – 46 (+37)
🔵 CON – 38 (-83)
🟢 GRN – 24 (+20)
🟢 PLAID – 7 (+3)

Overshooting 1.5°C wasn't 'inevitable.'

We've been pushed by fossil fuel giants & governments that pander to them.

Every delay, every oil field, every broken promise made this crisis worse.

Keir Starmer, will you promise to leave Rosebank undeveloped?
