I genuinely love Expedition 33 but man I wish people weren't so "This is the be all end all of Video Gaming" about it. Its a great piece of art for sure, but it should encourage people to look into the inspirations behind it and other games like it.

Two things can be true: 1.) The Game Awards are meaningless and we shouldn't take them all that seriously. 2.) Award shows of its scale DO rewrite the mainstream history of the art form, whether they deserve to or not, and its okay to care that it's so thoughtless despite having that responsibility.

It literally has a disclosure on its Steam page. It didn't "slip through", man. You tried to charge people for a thing that's got slop in it and they're mad.

Valve is not beholden to shareholders breathing down their neck so that’s why they seem to be taking a strong stance against ai. Their employees are paid EXTREMELY well too.
