"we need the murderous police to arrest the murderous ICE agents even though they are all working together" do you hear yourself

Always funny to read tourists describe a song or album in a given scene as "generic"

White supremacist talking points.

No dog whistles.

They're happy to make press statements like "oooh ICE get the į¶ įµ˜į¶œįµ out of our state" but won't actually arrest the fuckers. Democrats with a spine & moral integrity are like Republicans with a conscience.

For all the grandstanding, Democrats have been nowhere to be seen on the ground in Minnesota. The work there is being done by leftist groups, immigrants rights orgs, and random citizens. Took Walz almost a week to visit Good's memorial. Democrats do not functionally exist in the conversation anymore

A brilliant guitarist gone way too soon. Black Midi was such a forward-thinking project, and Matt was no small part in that.

Been a while since I posted one of these; I've been listening to music a good amount lately, but I'm not trying to clutter my social media accounts with too many posts

Current listen (2026/01/11)

This time it's a long-overdue relisten to this gorgeous album. I used to have it on repeat alongside Ɖcailles de Lune by Alcest back in 2014-2015. The textures these projects could create definitely left an impact on me.

The Democrats will not save us. The cops will not save us. We can't hope to vote this problem away. Only we can save us. (5/5)

Do you hear that? That's the ratcheting effect locking into place. Dems happily clapping along, glad to cheer on the same institution that since its inception has gunned down people indiscriminately. (4/5)
January 10, 2026 at 4:55 PM
Now they're trying to no-true-scotsman the issue away. "Oh, these aren't real cops." Why? Because they wear masks? Pretty tangential difference, especially given how many on-duty cops we'll see covering their badges before brutalizing someone. (3/5)

Cops want you to forget their long history of escalation into violence. They want you to forget how many innocent civilians they've murdered, and covered their own asses on. (2/5)

I've been seeing people eagerly clap along to this. Here's why you should at least consider being a bit more critical. (1/5)

A Black man was killed by ICE (off duty) in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve. And like RenĆ©e Good, he was an American citizen. But most people have not heard about Keith Porter.

I need y’all to realize this. Black people experience this lack of visibility all the time when it comes to being victims.

The more companies keep inflating this bubble, the worse it'll be for all of us when it bursts. OpenAI is actively hemorrhaging money, and yet companies keep investing in it.

They think they have impunity now. It's up to local communities to prove them wrong.
A woman recording an ICE agent tells him "Shame on you."

The agent responds, "Have you all not learned from the past couple of days?"

"Learned what?" she asks

Then he knocks her phone out of her hand

You better believe I gave em a piece of my mind on this one. Yes, I'm giving Discord shit for even considering adding this predatory bloatware to their app. Stop inflating the bubble.

They've been so effectively propagandized into denying any reality that doesn't support their preconceptions

I wonder how this person would react if they found out my experimental black/death metal album from 2024 had 18 tone serialism in the intro and outro tracks

I still occasionally revisit this review for a good laugh. Just about the funniest thing I've ever read, really. Experimental artist makes experimental music, how surprising. And the "I liked an EP that came out a month before this so that makes me a dedicated fan" is the icing on the cake for me.
