Thanks for running this, Eryn!
I have a gothic horror novella set in 1926, in which 9-yr-old Rosalyn plays a make-believe game of a Royal Court with 4 other girls. All of them want to (need to) be Queen... Things escalate. Significantly.🍀🔨👑

"It's ok for things to be difficult" is a basic concept that is utterly anathema to people devoted to the golden idol of efficiency. In the end they're just anti-human.
November 19, 2025 at 3:47 PM
The tech worlds hatred of art and love of efficiency betrays the kind of boring, beige souls that make it up and live in sad bubbles of capitalistic nothingness. None of them will ever under stand the feeling of fulfilment that comes with true creation, and not this bland pointless soulless garbage.
This man simply does not appreciate the joy and wonder of being alive and being human.

I’m only being slightly hyperbolic when I say this man and this company are a threat to everything I love and hold dear in life.

It's weird how our economy went from "build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door!" to "Here's a fridge this makes you watch an ad before you can get milk and a wristwatch that will gladly tell you to kill yourself."

Folks when i tell you this analogy rules I am not holding back. Also it is so cool to see ILLEGALS, one of the most political fantasy stories I’ve ever written, get brought to life in such a gorgeous, action-stacked collection.

Today is the big release day! :)

This anthology features my YA sci-fi story, “To Fly or Not to Fly.” It’s about dreams, hopes, and the perils of meeting your idols. The story was inspired by the time I jumped into traffic to save a child… Write what you know, eh? 😌

We really cannot thank Brian and J.M. enough for taking the time to chat with us on our latest episode. The result is by far one of our favorite episodes, so give it a listen wherever you get your pods. It's on the long side, but time stamps for J.M. and Brian's interviews are in the description. 🙂
I was honored to appear on @scarystuffpodcast.com, along with the legendary @jmdematteis.bsky.social, to talk about Keith Giffen, and also his short comic ‘Chigger and the Man’ which is quite possibly the most effective short horror comic ever. Available now wherever you listen to podcasts.

Hardest - I'm not great at action sequences. I just don't think very visually.

Easiest - Probably dialogue, but I like writing internal emotional descriptions best.
What scenes are the hardest and easiest for you to write?

Hardest for me: Drawn out battle scenes. Takes me forever to write because I'm trying to keep the action going.

Easiest: Dialogue. I trained on Gilmore Girls, Tolkien and Buffy lmao. Dialogue is my jam.

This is a pretty special episode. Might be my favorite that we've done.
NEW EPISODE

We're honored to be joined by special guests @jmdematteis.bsky.social, @briankeene.bsky.social and @bigox737.bsky.social for an episode in memory of the late Keith Giffen, covering the 1987 DR. FATE miniseries and Keith's contribution to 1988's TABOO
