The slide into authoritarianism is a hell of a thing to witness. "It can't happen here" is a fallacy we're all coming to grips with at different speeds. Hopefully that understanding comes faster that the authoritarian slide.
How can this be a hearing of an Attorney General – or any senior member of any Government – by a Parlament in any Western Country?
wow -- Bondi throws a fit in response to Nadler's question about how many of Epstein's co-conspirators, if any, she's investigating, aggressively pointing at him and yelling. The hearing then devolves into chaos and Raskin and Bondi start yelling at each other.

"But authoritarianism in our times ... is irreligious and materialistic, despite its pretenses ... comes down to a brutal rule of violence over people who are prevented from seeing and knowing what is going on, and who are forced to submit ... and give unquestioning obedience to it."

The contempt she has for the People’s Branch—for those representing us—We the People—is entirely in character for her, and for this regime as a whole.
holy shit -- Bondi's new tactic is refusing to answer Democratic questions, then using time during the next Republican questioner to smear the previous Democratic member and accuse them of being complicit in violence crimes

Trump tried to throw Members of Congress in jail for reminding servicemembers they don't have to follow illegal orders. He is weaponizing the DOJ to silence dissent & not one Republican has stepped up to stop him. Thankfully, a grand jury rejected it. We will not be intimidated.

There is the rule of "too much good thing":

Plants need water. However, not all plants survive under water.

Plants need warmth. However, not all plants survive in deserts.

Too much CO2 will lead to new deserts and rising sea levels, while some plants grow worse with just more CO2 in the air.
Burgum: "CO2 was never a pollutant. When we breathe, we emit CO2. Plants need CO2 to survive and grow. They thrive with more CO2. So the whole endangerment thing opens up an opportunity for the revival of clean, beautiful, American coal."

MAGA ain't just soft on crime.

They are, apparently, pro-crime...
Why do Trump and MAGA think it's good to spend billions on huge prison camps and divert massive law enforcement resources away from child and drug trafficking to arrest and detain non-criminals who would otherwise be contributing vitally to our economy?

The real news here is Peter Navarro saying lower jobs numbers *are good* because they (supposedly) indicate fewer immigrants are working in the US. Trump-MAGA ideology values sheer numbers of removals over pretty much all else because their top priority is ethnic reengineering.
Peter Navarro: "The jobs report comes out tomorrow. We have to revise our expectations down significantly for what a monthly job number should look like ... Wall Street has to adjust for the fact that we're deporting millions of illegals out of the job market."
