Silksong and Hades 2 releasing within the same month really has made me give up any hope of making any sort of noticeable dent in my backlog this year.

Consume Me just got delisted in a wave of delistings on itchio. It's a semi-autographical game about disordered eating. It won the grand prize at the most recent IGF awards.

When storefronts start mass bannings, everything is threatened.

With Steam's summer sale ending tomorrow, I thought it would be good to mention some of my favorite more obscure, relatively new indie game releases which are part of the sale:

Happy pride folks

I'm still fleshing out the entries, but here's a list of over 200 retro games (pre-2010) which were made by trans people or which had trans people on the dev team.

We have always been here.

Giant Bomb is now independently owned. It's great to see something good happen for the people running that site for once - it's been a while!

I finished Ender Magnolia. I like the story in Lilies a bit more, but I like the changes Magnolia made to the combat system and I think Magnolia is the stronger game overall. Both of them are fantastic though.

I wasn't sure if I would like Nine Sols despite all the praise it has gotten because I tend to bounce off of games which are heavy on parrying, but I'm glad I took a chance on it.

I just finished it and it was one of the best games I played all year.

I finished The Rise of the Golden Idol today!I like the story and setting of Case a bit more, but Rise is otherwise better in the *way* it tells its story and in the complexity and variety of its puzzles (plus its general QoL improvements).

This was easily one of my favorite games from 2024.
