LA City's Charter Reform has been looking at the question of a public advocate, and @controller.lacity.gov spoke against it saying he should be the only watchdog while asking to also be the CFO.

An elected public advocate and a strong controller work really well together, but he wants the spotlight

TODAY!

Call in or go in if you can. Help advocate for the valley, things can change:
- Support this LPA
- Advocate for a Becthel option
- Ask for a stop at Van Nuys/Sherman Way as a bare minimum
- Please ask for the final solution on Sepulveda to give people west of I-405 access
This Wednesday @ 11am, Metro votes on 2 critical transit items at the same committee meeting

🚇 Advancing heavy rail for the Sepulveda Pass
🚆 Final approval for the C Line extension to Torrance

Make your voice heard!

I'm driving in this week and I really don't want to. I hate driving SO MUCH.

@nickandert.bsky.social Please, please please reconsider your take on the LPA.

Look at the Valley west of the 405. How many busses is it going to take for Northridge to get to the stop? Do you really think someone in Woodland Hills is going to go that far to take transit? What about Winnetka?

PUSH FOR A SOLUTION THAT INCLUDES A SHERMAN WAY/SEPULVEDA STATION.

DO. NOT. SETTLE. FOR. THIS.

WE. DID. NOT. WIN. THIS IS NOT GOOD.

@nickandert.bsky.social respectfully, you clearly have no understanding of actual transit in the San Fernando Valley, and no experience of what it's like to move around here.

The center of SFV STILL does not have access. West Valley STILL does not have access.
January 11, 2026 at 6:25 PM
I've been talking about this a lot on Twitter, but this isn't a win for the valley.

The loss of the Sepulveda/Sherman Way stop is HUGE. Reseda, Northridge, and Winnetka have ZERO access to rail. The Sepulveda/Sherman Way stop gave them access.

Now they STILL have nothing & are being ignored AGAIN

Yay, KIND OF.

I love that alt 5 won.

I hate that it's using Alt 6's route.

You guys, I am a pro at not panicking when I have medical issues.

Like that time my vision drastically changed, or today when I went to urgent care for my leg and they told me to go to the ER.

Getting old is fun.

So I am halfway through season 5 of DS9, and I think I have to agree that it is the best Star Trek series of the 80s and 90s. Maybe of all Star Trek series.

It has the fewest number of episodes I want to skip, and it has the least amount of rape. It also deals with a lot of heavily political issues

Look, I love Joe Kelly for throwing behind Bregman, and then making the sad face to Correa, buuuut I'm still not convinced that it was intentional, instead of Joe Kelly being Joe Kelly
