I loved Natasha Kermani's ABRAHAM'S BOYS, based on Joe Hill's incredible short story. Beautiful, intimate, single location horror, in theaters today.
Abraham's Boys is a tale that asks a simple question about the aftermath of Dracula: What would such an encounter do to a survivor, and how would that survivor's behavior look to people who have no idea what they just went through? Read @awalrusdarkly.bsky.social's review
'Abraham's Boys' Is a Chilling, Unexpected Dracula Sequel - Pop Heist
No matter where they go, the Van Helsing and Harker family can't escape the long shadow cast by Dracula and his undead ilk.

This book will rip your heart right out of your chest. Grab your soul and shake it forever. Its so disturbing that your face will melt like that scene in Indiana Jones. Plus its well written. Oh god. Yes it deserves this treatment.
My editor told me today that Titan is printing 12k beautiful hardcover copies of WE ARE ALWAYS TENDER WITH OUR DEAD (Burnt Sparrow, 1) for the first print run. I’m so excited!!! Very grateful to have a publisher that believes in my work so fiercely. 🩷

Pointing out there's no such thing as unskilled labor.

People who do labor-intensive work have specialized skills. People working on farms have a LOT of invaluable skills and specific knowledge. A random person can't replace them.

This is deeply fucked on many levels.

Writing Tip:
Never underestimate the power of an unanswered question. Letting a question hang without an answer is a great way of getting your reader to think, instead of just giving them the solution yourself with a long-winded monologue.

You know you're about to read the most horrifying shit you've ever laid eyes on when the dedication goes "to my partner, light of my life, and to our friends and community, I would be nothing without you, here's to another amazing year of our beautiful found family". You're about to need prayers
The more horror I've read, the more I've come to believe that the sweetest, kindest, most community-oriented people you'll ever meet also write the most terrifying stories. And I don't think that's a coincidence
