As I get older, I feel more convinced that the future is tomorrow. Literally tomorrow. Long-term planning is important to some degree but for anything that doesn't take years of training - start it now.

My aunt's MIL's sister passed away last year and was remembered at the same mass as my paternal grandmother and we ran into their family there. Next level correspondence - we got a thank you note from them saying "your kind expression of sympathy is gratefully acknowledged and deeply appreciated"

skaters will not have this problem should they choose to skate with the universally beloved music of the Mountain Goats
I’m getting word that there are skaters having to fight music rights battles right now just days before the Olympics. We know Lauriault/le Gac has already made the decision to change their RD. Don’t be surprised if we get some other program changes in Milan

It's a good thing all the conservative Christians from my childhood abandoned their beliefs or else they'd be freaking out about the antichrist. Unfortunately i haven't so it's left to me to be like. What the hell.
A Minnesota woman observing ICE agents in her car was cornered on one-way streets. An agent approached, called her by name—citing facial recognition. Days later, her Global Entry and TSA privileges were revoked, with no explanation.

I remember my eyelashes freezing together every morning on the way to class that winter in Western NY
At 15.5", this is the snowiest January in State College since 2015 (my senior year at Penn State).

This will also be the coldest January since 2014 and 2015 which were both cold months. February 2015 was the coldest February on record. Hopefully we don't repeat this year. #PAwx

Just a reminder, the greatest living American historian filmmaker, Ken Burns, released a 720 min exploration of every facet of the American revolution using zero generative AI and paying for all of its assets instead of cobbling it from stolen data, then he gave it away for free on PBS this year.

when i was in elementary school, my parents had kid size snow shovels, which we used to go out and use while they were shoveling the driveway.

In retrospect we were no good at all at clearing snow. It was strictly a "tire out the kids" activity.
