So it turns out that major life event in the family + the anniversary of my gran's death being a couple of weeks away/the ongoing anniversary of her slow death = terrible mental health.

Who could have expected that?

I think The Staircase in the Woods by Chuck Wendig may be a contender for my favourite book that I've read this year.

Genuinely creeped me out and I loved the characters.

And that ending!

Waterstones shipping a book now that isn't supposed to release to October 21st, when I have at least two books to read before I can touch it.

(Nothing is skipping over A Cinnamon Falls Mystery or A Steeping of Blood. Not even one of my most anticipated sequels of the year.)

Even if you don’t watch the show English Teacher, hope you'll read this. This is about more than 1 show, 1 guy.

FX just renewed a show from a man facing allegations of assault. I have a LOT of questions about the implications not just for FX but for the whole industry www.salon.com/2025/02/12/f...
FX’s renewal of "English Teacher" sends a dangerous message
FX's decision to look past allegations against Brian Jordan Alvarez signals a troubling disregard for survivors.

Stephen asking if Bogdan is his son. 😭 And Elizabeth saying that she has friends now. 😭

Pure devastation at three in the afternoon.

Cis peeps, please write to your MPs about this absolute bollocks.

Appeasing weirdo internet forums to push for widespread oppression isn’t something the health secretary should consider his job. Shit’s inappropriate and is veering heavily to segregation.

A reporter just asked the U.S. president a perfectly legitimate question about his attorney general's vow to prosecute people for constitutionally protected speech.

He responded by threatening to prosecute the reporter.

The threat itself is an abuse of power. It ought to be an impeachable offense.
JON KARL: What do you make of Pam Bondi saying she's gonna go after hate speech? A lot of your allies say hate speech is free speech

TRUMP: We'll probably go after people like you because you treat me so unfairly. You have a lot of hate in your hate. Maybe they'll have to go after you.

It’s beyond time for people to stop making excuses for the genocide perpetrated by the politicians and state of Israel. Our countries should stop cooperation with them immediately, and start bringing them to book.

If you are marching through London against mass migration, you are *by definition* a racist.
Yes, yes you are. Stop cosplaying "legitimate concerns". When you join a far right rally, organised by well known far right leader Tommy Robinson, with a host of speakers who outright say they are far right, you are a racist. No ifs, buts or maybes. There are no excuses for being there.

Do it.

Search your name.

Take their money.

It’s yours anyway.
Just a reminder to check for your name in this list of books that OpenAI trained from. If your name is there, they probably owe you several thousand dollars.

OpenAI cried that if everyone eligible author files, the company will go bankrupt, so I'm alerting every author I have ever spoken to.
