The middle of the book was by far the best part. The rest of it was okay.

Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus

This is one of those books where I really appreciate the differences between the book and the TV adaptation, and I love them both.

We Solve Murders by Richard Osman

You know that I love his main series, but I think this could be my favourite book of all of his.

Be Right Back by Bill Wood

A really solid sequel to Let's Split Up. The only real flaw is that it was obvious which character was involved.

The less said about this one, the better.

Small Town Slasher by Stephanie Rose (ARC)

I really enjoyed this, even if the ending was a little bit abrupt for my liking.

A Corruption of Blood by Ambrose Parry

I mean, they never miss! This series continues to be my favourite one that I've read for ages.

The Staircase in the Woods by Chuck Wendig

This is my first book by this author, and I was honestly blown away after not being sure what to expect going in. It was genuinely creepy, the characters are amazing, and I was glued to it for the last 200 pages.

The Forsaken and the Fated by Camilla Raines

This was one of my most anticipated books of the year and it did not disappoint! I love Miles and Gabriel so much but the supporting characters are so great that I'd happily read books for them.

The Girl in the Woods by Patricia MacDonald

It does feel like poor Blair is running around talking to brick walls for the first chunk of the book, and the only time anyone wants to help is for their own gain.

The 13th Footprint by Sanbe Kei

I was so excited when I saw this was finally being translated into English because I am such a big fan of one of his other works - Erased - and thankfully this was just good as I expected it to be.

Dead Girls Walking by Sami Ellis

Now this is a book that brought the creepy factor. I heard a floorboard creak while I was reading one night and had to scrape myself off the ceiling. I love Temple and Cali and everyone else, but Yaya was my surprise favourite.

Alchemy of Secrets by Stephanie Garber

I know this book is proving to be pretty divisive, but I will say that I did enjoy it, I just think that so much of the interesting stuff happened in the last ~50 pages, and the most intriguing character didn't even show up.

The Art of Dying by Ambrose Parry

I'm so emotionally invested in this series that this book made me want to gnaw through a brick wall because what do you MEAN you put (redacted) through all that?!

Honestly, this one was a slog to get through. It's not a bad book - I just don't get bothered by gore or any of the other stuff that's supposed to scare you in this book.

Out of the Loop by Katie Siegel (ARC from netgalley)

Release date: 10th Feb 2026

This is such an interesting twist on the usual time loop story. We rarely get to see the aftermath of a time loop and I love the way it plays out in this story.

Dammit, Sarah's husband is great. And he's dying. 😭

A Cinnamon Falls Mystery by R.L. Killmore

Great story, fun romance, and that pseudonym is one of my favourites.
