COMICS and ILLUSTRATION FOLKS. Do you have a newsletter/patreon? I want to follow it!

Also do you like your newsletter platform? I'm on Buttondown but I don't like how things display. I want to switch to something else next year. Maybe Ghost? Maybe Pencilbooth? (not Substack) Who do you like?

I’m in Chicago, but you’d better believe i ordered myself a Manhattan tonight to celebrate @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social and his epic win tonight. Mr. mayor, if you ever make it to our fair city, your first drink is on me. Maybe you can even show our potential mayor candidates a thing or two.

It's no looker, but this is a dish I wished more people knew: Harissa, an easy-to-make Armenian porridge that is equal parts wheat berries and chicken. It is unbelievably satisfying.

(note to self: work up that chickpea version now that you are a vegetarian)

Oh hell yeah, this looks incredible!
Yooooo, last night I made Armenian harissa because @sarahbecan.bsky.social & @wordloaf.org convinced me I needed to, and they did not lead me astray. Super mega comfort food! And the Aleppo butter/oil business was 🤌. I may have been a bit heavy-handed there. 🍽️🍜

Y’all should read this. Very good perspective on what’s going on in Chicago.

And I’ll add that if you’re making roast acorn squash, put some maple syrup in the seed hole. It’s delicious.

Roasting squash is a simple seasonal treat which you should try at the first possible moment and the government is lying to you about Chicago and what they’re doing here.
