The first cross stitch I did back in July 2020. I was have massive pandemic anxiety & decided I needed a hobby to help me relax. Saw this kit from Subversive Cross Stitch & thus a hobby was born.

Mamdani: That’s how I felt when we came up with this plan. Together, we will expand the idea of what is possible in our city—and what sounds and noises we can make at a press conference.

This was the first cover in the Dragonriders of Pern series to feature the beloved fire lizards and I really enjoyed painting them. 1/5

If you rent in Seattle, please fill out this survey from our fellow renter, our mayor.

If anything, it was cathartic to bitch about bad landlords in some answers.

Context: this speech is from SIR THOMAS MORE, a history written, as near as scholars can tell, in the early 1600s by 6 or 7 people including Dekker, Heywood, Chettle, Shakespeare, and Munday.

It was never performed, because Jacobean England was a police state and it was banned by the censor.
Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

My older brother was a Sesame Street kid. I was a The Muppet Show kid, which completely explains my sense of humor.

We watched the newest version & it was exactly what I grew up with. Silly. Sureal. Weird. I dearly hope it gets more episodes.

“Stay angry, little Meg,” Mrs Whatsit whispered. “You will need all your anger now.”

"Okay I get that," Meg whispered back, "but I've been angry for over a decade straight and my arteries are basically solid carbon fiber at this point. Do I ever get a freakin' break?"
