Fascinating paper from Roddy Roediger on the fuzzy boundary btwn cognitive and social psychology. As someone who now finds herself living on that boundary it was cool to realize that my undergraduate research mentor lived there too. 1/

I’m scheduled to sit on an NIH panel in Feb. I just received an email from the study section chair confirming that Feb meetings are all still scheduled and we should continue completing our reviews.
Bad luck for me that my own grant was due to be reviewed 1/31.

December 1st—time to finish submitting a million reference letters. While I’d never write a one-liner calling a student "adequate," it’s tough to say more when you barely know them. Thankfully had much more to say for mine this year. Wishing all applicants the best of luck! #academicsky #psyscisky

The template that is included with this paper about how to report deviations from pre-registrations looks great! These are always tricky to deal with (both as an author and as an editor).
This paper reports on a survey of journal editors’ perceptions of departures from pre-registrations, and provides a template for transparently tracking and disclosing them (I really like the latter). Worth thinking about incorporating in your lab’s SOPs.
