*narrows eyes*

I get the spirit behind the recaps and the joy in sharing them. But YouTube is telling me my personality type based on what I watched and asking me to taste how well its guess was, and Discord says I have too many things set to private for it to give me a recap.

Glad to pay my $30 in taxes for USPS. I pay more in taxes for other services that benefit Americans far less.
The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

A few of my film restoration buddies told me this was coming. Great to see it finally announced. The original, 1977 theatrical version of Star Wars restored for the 50th anniversary. Can't wait to see it in IMAX! gizmodo.com/star-wars-or...

More than anything else classism is that if you lose your company half a million you get fired, but if Zuck loses Meta 77 billion he gets paid $28 million.

Meritocracy doesn't fail due to DEI, if fails becaues we can't ever let a rich nimrod suffer consequences for any level of screwup.
Mark Zuckerberg’s gamble on the "Metaverse" has lost his company more than $77 billion.

This is going to sound conspiratorial, but it is serves the LLM techbros for the 'em-dash = AI' lay-belief to persist.

While em-dashes are diagnostically unreliable, it undermines the legitimacy of real writing/scholarship. And when real can't be discriminated from false, the false can thrive.
I don't doubt this—but it does bug me that em-dashes are used as a heuristic to spot LLM-generated text.

Fortunately I can point to my 2020 doctoral thesis and show that I was overusing and abusing ems well before el el ems.
The US National Security Strategy seems to be—at least in part—written/edited by AI.

There are hallmark AI em dashes in nearly every other paragraph — shocking but unsurprising.

Adulthood involves far too much going forth and doing battle with institutional failure.

Today's foe is the pharmacy, who got a prescription called in for me at 5 pm and despite the app telling me twice that they started filling it... Had not.

I'm begging any artists still using Twitter claiming it's integral to their work to just leave. It's been revealed the site works off a made up "credit score" from hell and punishes you for posting like a normal human being.

Abandon Twitter for good. It's time. It's been time.

God, I hate shopping for cooking tools. It's always "here are my top five! This one is the most expensive and the best! This one is the budget option at 3% cheaper! If you hate yourself, go buy this option! They are all dishwasher safe, but only use the dishwasher if you hate your investment!"

87% of executives sitting at their desk writing prompts like "a picture of my wife coming back with the kids"
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?

Visually it's very utilitarian, does not feel like a macOS app but is close enough given its other strengths.
