I think it’s definitely taught. Some people may have grown up with a parent who wouldn’t take them grocery shopping. Also how to build a grocery shopping list isn’t readily taught more so just by watching - for example: buying a couple meats to make multiple dishes out of to last for a week or two.
I am so shocked by people who don’t know how to grocery shop. I don’t know if it’s a learned skill or taught one, but i definitely thought we all knew how.
