🚨ABC 15 exposes Maricopa County for undercounting heat-deaths. Why were some deaths recorded differently? Because the victims were homeless and officials are dismissing their lives. As policymakers, we cannot mitigate preventable heat deaths if we are being lied to about the extent of the crisis.
Heat deaths are grossly undercounted across the U.S.
Here in Arizona, the supposed "model" for the rest of the country, too many heat deaths are still unaccounted for.

Trump’s federal government is crossing a dangerous line by deploying military force against civilians exercising their right to protest. This is an authoritarian escalation. Immigrants are our family, our friends, our neighbors. They contribute, they belong, and they deserve dignity not persecution.
The federal government is taking over the California National Guard and deploying 2,000 soldiers in Los Angeles — not because there is a shortage of law enforcement, but because they want a spectacle.
