In April, I made the rarest of pilgrimages: to Tokyo, and the top of a skyscraper, to meet Hideo Kojima. I went with one question: why still make games? At 61, he has made them for almost forty years. But he has seen his end.

Horrible news. RIP
The family of Patrick Dane has made public today the devastating news that their beloved son and brother was in a car accident on December 27th and is no longer with us. His father and stepmother, who were also in the vehicle, are in critical condition, but stable.

Taking a break from the sickening tragedy to focus on the beauty for a moment. Rob Reiner achieved something so rare and coveted that artists and entertainers dream of and rarely achieve: cultural permanence. How many times have you made a reference to something going to 11? Shouted "Inconceivable"?

One of the many reasons AI can't produce good writing is it can't hate its own writing. It can't think to itself "Maybe I'm illiterate" during the writing process. And that's essential

Zarah’s utopia removes any direct accountability and shares it among such large groups that it would be chaos. I have friend groups of 6 that can’t decide where to meet for dinner unless someone takes the lead. The idea of running a first world economy that way is bonkers.
Zarah Sultana says we should "nationalise the entire economy."

I asked her what that meant in practice.

The ROG Ally might have the worse user experience of any console I have ever used. I would may go as far as saying the worst of any tech product I’ve used. Just abysmal.

Clair Obscur having the most Game Award nominations ever is our La La Land @ 2017 Oscars. A perfectly great thing (I love LLL!) that made people go insane.
