It's our first #MarvelMonday of the new year and it belongs to another 2025 release - Mondo's sixth scale Nightcrawler from X-Men '97. Mondo's line of figures are often the best looking representations ever for these characters, but rarely are they this much fun to pose.
Mondo X-Men ’97 1/6 Scale Nightcrawler
Make way for Munich's own Nightcrawler! Yes, I'm afraid this is another toy review that needs to begin with a word about tariffs. It was the talk of 2025 in the toy collecting community because it caused considerable delays, disruptions, and worst of all, increased prices across the board. One line impacted by the introduction of these new costs more than most was Mondo's line of sixth scale action figures based on the Marvel cartoons…

I love that Metalhead design. NECA appears to have nailed it.

It's pretty wild that in the US a politician can just look at a scientific fact and say, "Nah."

Do any toy collectors have any recommendations on moving an Ikea Detolf? I think the response is going to be "carefully" but I'll take any recommendations.

Toy Fair 2026 is nearly upon us and with it should come a host of new reveals for the year ahead. What do I hope it and the year ahead brings? Well, let's do some brainstorming with a post that's half prediction and half wish list because it's fun to get excited about things!
2026 – The Year in Figures to Come
Toy Fair is coming which basically means the start of the year in toy reveals for 2026! 2025 is history. We're done talking about it. Well, sort of. I have written-up posts for the last of the 2025 action figures I received, but they haven't gone live just yet so I'm done looking back, but dear reader you are not. Attention turns to 2026 and we're coming up on the eve of New York Toy Fair.

Finished it last night and would absolutely enjoy more adventures from Trevor and Simon. Their chemistry together was so fun.
Is anyone on here watching Wonder Man? Just finished episode 6 and whew…exceptional. Yahya and Ben are so so good in these roles.

There was big news last night in the toy world as it was announced that Mattel would be the new master license holder for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Not only is this a big change in going from Playmates to Mattel, it could mean big things for companies like NECA and Super7, but just how big?
Mattel x TMNT
Late last year, news broke via Playmates Toys that they would no longer be the master license holder for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys. As far as news in the toy world goes, this was pretty damn big. Up until now, Playmates has been the only company to hold the master toy license for the franchise and it's very likely that without Playmates most wouldn't even know what Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is.

Ohh, so if I wanted the good pair of sai and the effect part for the regular figure I just needed to pay $65 for a motorcross Raphael that I totally want. Makes so much sense now!
Super7 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ultimates Wave 3: Raphael, April, Hun, & Shell Cycle.

Singles will be $65 each and the Shell Cycle will be $150.

My grandma took me to a Child World as a kid when it was going out of business and the only action figures they had left were Hook toys. I got a candy bar instead.
So weird that one Hollywood director in a midlife crisis results in a toy company wasting millions of dollars trying to foist action figures of a middle-aged Peter Pan on kids who couldn’t care less about such weird old rich-people-without-any-real-problems nonsense: youtu.be/hpDjb6Mz3lk?...

As expected, just a few days early. Remains to be seen how this impacts other license holders. Could be not at all, could be a lot. Feels doubtful Mattel would pay up for a master license and not want to serve the collector market.

JoyToy has been killing it with its line of 1:18 scale Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and somehow the company keeps topping itself. Enter Metalhead, perhaps the best one yet and the best iteration on the character ever brought to plastic ever.
JoyToy TMNT Metalhead
Metalhead is here to kick ass and clean up. When 2025 came to an end and it was time to reflect on the year in action figures there wasn't much hesitation in my mind what the toyline of the year should be. It was easy - JoyToy's line of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The 1:18 scale collector line came out of no where at the tail end of 2024 and it's been full steam ahead for JoyToy ever since.

Nobody had any idea how to sell video games in the 90s (and well into the 2000s) so a good chunk of game ads were just sex/masturbation jokes that told you virtually nothing about the game itself. The prime example being this absolutely unhinged Goemon's Great Adventure (N64) ad:
