Well here it is!

The UK is considering joining PEM.

Not A European customs union, but offers big benefits to trade across Europe.

Not THE Customs Union, but something many people were calling for the UK to join as an alternative a few months back.

So pleased to see it being considered.

Donald Trump destroyed public service broadcasting in the US - it's little surprise Nigel Farage wants to do the same thing here.

Trump’s America, don’t let it become Farage’s Britain.

Interesting to see so many great British patriots right now begging an American president to bankrupt one of Britain’s last remaining truly national institutions.

The odious criminal who is in charge of the US is trying to take down our national broadcasting service & people like Farage are cheering him on.
I'm beyond livid.

NEW: The biggest union in the BBC, Bectu, has written to culture secretary Lisa Nandy and BBC chair Samir Shah, demanding the removal of Robbie Gibb from the BBC Board.

They say Gibb, a political appointee, is a “direct block to the BBC maintaining its chartered objective of independence”.

Genuinely confused.
Last week we were all told to hate Labour for ‘putting up income tax’, but today we are supposed to hate them for ‘not putting up income tax’.

Can we not just wait for the budget before we decide?
It’s going to be a very long 10 days or so…

Actually, Mark Lobel, I think your guest was absolutely right. It was your reporting that got a bit overexcited on the basis of ten minutes. Market reaction has evened out.

Here's a particularly weird one where an unnamed sends Epstein a text that says "Tommy Robinson. !! good work" then almost exclusively and repeatedly talk about Goebbels and Kristallnacht for a while before pivoting to talking about blood drawing.

I’m at a loss to understand why anyone would think briefing this sort of thing will help KeirStarmer, the government or even themselves. Some people can’t resist, I guess, but it all a bit nuts.

What you’re witnessing is a populist assault on the BBC.

This is not an institutional scandal in any meaningful sense of the word. It is an attack on public service broadcasting.

Most of the print media is owned billionaires, who have used their papers to distract people from the real causes of social problems by instead focusing public anger towards immigrants and minorities.

Now the billionaire owners of social media giants are doing a similar thing with their algorithms.

The wrongful release of prisoners happened 800 times under the Tories.

The media bias and lack of reference to any past is just hideous.

School pupils are to be taught how to tackle conspiracy theories, spot 'fake news' & root out misinformation. The Daily Mail, ajudged by Wikipedia to be an unreliable new source, is furious. You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to work out why.

We fought hard last year to get rid of a corrupt government and get one which is competent and wanted to rebuild our country.

Are we really going to throw that all away for a government that is even worse?

And what for?

Because the government tells you the truth about how tough things are?

We have seen politicians crawl to Murdoch over broken glass. When he dies, in the next 30 years, they will wail, call him a Lion of Industry. They will make no reference to Murdoch's directed, structural undermining of not just democracy but facilitating the decline of the Anglophone world.

I am so tired of 24 hour news about small boats. I simply don’t care how many migrants arrive in the UK any more. No matter how many, they’ll never be as big a threat to British values, our way of life, or indeed women‘s safety, as the bigots who make yelling about migrants their entire personality.

Frustrating how much of this asylum hotel report is being framed.

This is absolutely something inherited by Labour from the Tories.

Not only the Tories signing the contracts but the Tories stopping processing asylum claims from irregular arrivals.

So this woman is basically still being groomed by creepy men for their own needs. Utterly disgraceful.

Also, Is there anything Parliament can do about this? Deliberately undermining the government in this way shouldn’t go un punished.
Mari Novik, FT, "When did you two first get to know each other?"

Nigel Farage "No"
