‘One officer told me that I "had no chance of returning to Minnesota" and that "the best thing for (me] is self-deportation." …
She offered me $2600 to self-deport.
I refused.
I wanted to talk to my attorney.
They didn't tell me the judge had already ordered my release and return to Minnesota.’

Just an update: I still don't want A.I. in shit. If you offer A.I. in your marketing, I am less likely to buy it. I think opt-out of A.I. scraping and functionality should be legally mandated. I'm not interested in A.I. education for myself or my kids. Turn the data centers into shelters.

Renee Nicole Good wasn't the first person killed by ICE. In 2025, 32 people died in ICE custody. In 2026, at least 2 people were killed by ICE, starting with Keith Porter on NYE.

Dumb question: What would happen if Venezuela stops shipping oil on tankers and pipelines/trucks/trains oil to Colombia, Brazil, and Guyana?

In the last few years, Israel (with American backing) attacked Palestine (Gaza and the West Bank), Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Qatar, and a crossing run by Egypt. We should understand that Rubio and Trump may not stop at Venezuela and have designs on Cuba, Nicaragua, Colombia, et al.

The internet has had stages chapters, always patchwork and often fractured. Shit is now broken. I make and weird websites. Where do I go to fund the non-slop, non-ai misinformation algorithm garbage chute, and instead remain in the cultivated garden and wilderness of the other internet?

For all the mfers who say workers just serve coffee, just deliver packages, just stock shelves, just clean rooms, just prep food, or just check in guests, remember this, they keep our communities running every day. And when they’re on a picket line, you respect it.

Ben Rhodes flawed NYT op-ed, "This Is the Story of How the Democrats Blew It on Gaza," suggests jettisoning the "hug Bibi" strategy for "Hug Israel." Rhodes isn't just amoral and unprincipled, a national security advisor is now reduced to explaining the pivot is needed for political reality. (1/4)

I've gone to several of the UN COP conferences, their annual meeting to deal with #climatechange. A week ago, I was in Brazil at #cop30; this is my attempt to demystify what I have seen: www.youtube.com/watch?v=RM39... #unfccc

He said that the agents would throw food at them to eat. The agents threatened to withhold food for a week and to beat him up if he didn't sign deportation papers. He said he saw others refuse and get beaten/receive no food. He signed because he was afraid.

Responding to a question from @democracynow.org on Wednesday, during his first press conference as mayor-elect,
@zohrankmamdani.bsky.social said ICE agents who break the law in New York will be held accountable by his administration. "Everyone will be held to the same standard," he said.

This is my question.
Mamdani: "My message to ICE agents & to everyone across this city is that everyone will be held to the same standard of the law. If you violate it, you must be held accountable. There is sadly a sense growing that certain people are allowed to violate that law, whether they be POTUS or ICE agents."

What's fucked up is that @teenvogue.com read this and fired all their political writers. Somebody needs to hire @leximcmenamin.com asap.
here is my story about how Zohran's focus on community amid the loneliness epidemic helped young people connect their politics to an organizing infrastructure, that interviewed ZM, and does not use the NYT's framing of "they don't know how to make friends" :-) and also ran 4 days before NYT's lol
Zohran Mamdani's Establishment-Fighting Campaign Built Community for Young People
“What Mamdani has done is not only inspire and mobilize young people, but he has exposed the establishment and some of their calcified views of participation and inclusion.”
