Certainly suggests that Maduro was using almost entirely Cuban forces for his personal guard (shades of Qadhdhafi using Tuareg militias for his), and that the new ruling junta didn’t mind letting them hang, assuming they were aware this was coming in the way it did.

As a South African I feel the same
As a Canadian, it is so hard to quantify the degree of repugnance of members of Trump's cabinet. To me, they all seem disgusting, dishonest, sadistic and malevolent. Why one appeals less to the others is an enigma.

The Russian government is presumably trying to derail US-Ukraine talks and make Ukraine look like the bad guys, but what it has also done is to show Ukraine and non-US NATO that they cannot rely on the Trump-era US for security; they will need to work together, without the US.
