Btw - I write poetry, used to sing (jazz mainly, if you ask I will email you SO many wavs), and attempt to sketch. I have a book of stories coming out next year, but don't have a brain that can write long stuff. I've lived in Scotland with family for 30 years, still sound like Mary Poppins.

Released 7 Dec 1973, the album Tales from Topographic Oceans by Yes. The band decided to produce a double album containing four side-long tracks, based on the 4 bodies of Hindu shastras text, ranging between 18 and 21 minutes. It made No.1 in the UK and No.6 in the US & was certified gold. #Yes

I used to think BlueSky was an impossible platform to sell books, and I know many authors give up. I only stayed because I like to hang out here.

But here's what I'm learning...

💙 BlueSky rewards you for being human. 💙

This is such a foreign concept on the other socials... I nearly missed it.

We should put together a list of books you can buy this Christmas from authors who were robbed and had their careers sabotaged* by Unbound.
(*What makes me forever angry is that it's about so much more than money. You'd think people who read would be better at empathy and understanding.)

Black Friday is basically bollocks and small businesses deserve your support.
I’m not doing Black Friday this year.
I’d rather be honest with you than try to compete with big brands.
Every purchase genuinely makes a difference to my tiny business.
Shop independent this Christmas.

I am not going to dive into the back and forth on piracy. I have a side, you can guess what it is.

But I will say one thing: if you get the books from your library, you're still not paying for it and the author does get compensated.
