1 life-changing exit.
We used to spend two weeks naming products.

Two. Weeks.

Brainstorming. Debating. Settling on something mediocre.

Now? 30 secs. And the names are better. Every single time.

DomainStorm.io has given us better names in 1/2 a minute than we came up with in 14 days.

The excuses are gone.

I used to think freedom meant not working.

Now I think it means doing what you’d choose even if you didn’t have to.

Specialization works… until the world stops playing by the same rules.

The broader your base, the better your odds when everything shifts.

I don’t count my chickens until they hatch.

Even if I really think they’re going to hatch.

Why?

Because the reality is, they don’t all hatch.

And I'd much rather create unexpected upsides than unexpected downsides.

TIL Spotify is running ICE ads.

Needless to say, I just canceled. I hope you will too.

Someone on Thumbtack just now:

“I'll give you $100 off if you cancel the project bc I just paid $91 for this lead.

I just thought i’d be honest with you instead of trying to charge you more. We are an honest company."

The key to unstoppable success?

View all difficult business hurtles as moats, and turn setbacks and losses into fuel.

Don’t look back.

Anyone know of a domain registrar affiliate program that is actually usable?

All the ones we've tried either deny us right away or only provide an affiliate link to their homepage which won’t cut it.

Now that we're on our 3rd successful SaaS, and we're in the market for more, we mapped out what our idea SaaS business would look like.

What do you agree with, and what would you change?
What would our ideal SaaS business look like?

AI is great at working within a narrow range of rules, such as generating:

- A catchy headline

- A brand/domain name

- Even a small script

But when there’s a bigger picture involved it falls apart, such as:

- Building a larger app

- Writing a short story you'd actually want to read

Are you a generalist or a specialist?

If a specialist, in what?

Over the past year we've been heads down on Aware and grown it 8x.

We’re in full scaling mode.

Along the way, we’ve also acquired two other businesses under the Aware canopy.

It’s time to step beyond.

And with that, we’re beyond excited to announce Wildfront(.)co.

Let's go!

Oof. Sad that people feel okay doing this, and that they can get away with it.
This is wild

For those with a profitable SaaS:

Do you view your revenue forecast/projections?

If so, what do you use?

Blows my mind that I haven't found an app that shows accurate MRR.

Stripe is simply not right and is delayed.

ProfitWell is bloated as it counts active yet set to cancel accounts as MRR.

So I wrote my own script that gives me my accurate MRR in real time.

Maybe I'll package is up as a free app.

It's amazing how much easier it gets after the first $5k MRR.

It's crazy times.

It likely always feels that way to a degree.

Yet, my family and I have been to 14 countries in the last 2 years and 99.9% of people we met were so kind.

We can't directly change those in power, but we can have a positive impact on many of those around us.

And that's powerful.

Awesome list of founder and makers on BlueSky!

(And thanks for including me, @mijustin.bsky.social 🙏)
Nice! @leenyburger.bsky.social just joined Bluesky! 👋

I've added her (plus a few others) to the "Founders and Makers" starter pack:

Simplicity and focus wins.

One of my best decisions was 10 years ago:

- Invested all of my cash into index funds (Boglehead three-fund portfolio) versus chasing high-performing stocks

- Invested all of my time into getting good at building and growing SaaS, which is where my expertise was/is
