Remember 25 years ago when a photo was taken of a fed pointing a gun at a crying refugee child and the image was so shameful it dominated the news cycle for a year

I don’t know if I’m ever going to get over Trump saying “big play coming up” on 2nd and 7.
Government is shut down. Chaos in airports. 42 million going hungry. 24 million face skyrocketing healthcare costs. Economy in turmoil. And the president of the United States is in the Fox broadcast booth calling plays for a football game.

love this for her.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

Ranking the greatest running backs ever to have the initials B.S., play college football at a university in Oklahoma, win the Heisman Trophy, get drafted in the top three by Detroit, spend their entire NFL career wearing #20 for the Lions, and retire to Oklahoma:

As a Cowboys fan, I usually welcome any excuse to hate the Washington football team even more… but this one would be too much.
President Trump would like the Commanders’ new stadium named after him, though no formal talks have occurred, ESPN reported. Trump will be in attendance at the team’s game on Sunday — the Commanders expect the topic may arise during his visit.
Trump Stadium, home of the Commanders? The president is not opposed.
No formal conversations on naming rights for the Commanders’ new D.C. home have been held.

My 3-year-old daughter is playing with dolls and making one of them sing “ba-ba-ba-basketball, give me the ball because I’m gonna DUMP IT” vaguely to the tune of Roundball Rock, and this is honestly one of my proudest moments as a dad.

I want to amend this, actually. I’m willing to entertain one debate on how forcefully to condemn antisemitism.

One side of the debate: “Don’t give those people a platform to spew their hate.”

The other side: “Throw Nazis into the fucking sun.”
If your party doesn’t know how forcefully to condemn antisemitism, you may be in the wrong party.
Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson is receiving backlash from the GOP over his recent interview with white nationalist and far-right activist Nick Fuentes, reopening a debate in the party over how forcefully to condemn antisemitism.
