Proud early PI moment. Lab did an amazing job presenting our new work on autonomic neuromodulation for people w/ spinal cord injury at the Minnesota Neuromodulation Symposium

Important work coming out on:
-cardiac stability w/ spinal stim
-biomarkers of spasticity
-AD during motor threshold tests

Ground breaking wireless bladder pressure monitor for real world recordings in Journal of Urology. Already yielding results, showing higher pressures during ambulation. This will change how we manage and think about bladder dysfunction after SCI.

Sponsored by the now defunded DoD SCIRP grants.

Worth a listen, new podcast from @u2fp.bsky.social with Dr. Andy Taylor on the recently disbanded $40M DoD spinal cord injury research program.

This was a unique program which ensured people impacted by SCI were helping make funding decisions based on community priorities.

This is really interesting & I hope it holds up to rigorous peer review.

With an intervention at 2-4 weeks after acute SCI, considering natural recovery is key. Digital twins are ideal to know typical recovery.

Dr. Bruningk’s site will be my first stop when these results hit.

Think you know Autonomic Dysreflexia after spinal cord injury?

After decades of everyone doing their own thing, we’ve had 20 years consensus definition.

But it’s far from perfect. Herein we take a deep dive into where the definition fails and how it might be improved.
