SOOOOO excited to see this online IN REAL-LIFE!!

Here, we review the latest in hepatic tissue-resident #Tcell biology. We draw on a metaphor proposed by Robert Louis Stevenson [1886] to highlight the fact a cell can manifest different behaviours & actions depending on environmental context 🧪

Extracellular matrix sensing regulates intratumoral heterogeneity of autophagic flux
Human pancreatic cancer cells sense specific components of the ECM to fine-tune their autophagy flux levels, conferring the ability to coordinate proliferation, survival, and responsiveness to chemotherapy. Targeting ECM sensing may turn this ability into a therapeutic opportunity.

****2-NBDG does not measure glucose uptake****

Just your regular reminder of this fact 😁.

See the rigorous proof of this fact in @lindavsinclair.bsky.social 2020 paper.

Single Cell Glucose Uptake Assays: A Cautionary Tale
Assays to monitor the metabolic state or nutrient uptake capacity of immune cells at a single cell level are increasingly in demand. One assay, used by many immunologists, employs 2-(N-(7-Nitrobenz-2-oxa-1,3-diazol-4-yl)Amino)-2-Deoxyglucose ...

B cell-intrinsic IL-2 signaling regulates inflammation by promoting IL-10 expression in CD25+ age-associated B cells
B cells transiently increase interleukin (IL)-2 receptor expression upon activation. Gauthier et al. examine the B cell-intrinsic role of IL-2 and define an IL-2-MAF axis that promotes the differentiation of CD25+ age-associated B cells toward a regulatory, IL-10-producing phenotype that is protective in neuroinflammation.
