We have been bringing the festive cheer to our friends at Natural England and the NFU in London recently – highlighting the continued badger cull.

240,000 badgers dead and nothing to show for it. It must end.

Enough.

Time for punitive sanctions on game shooting until and unless these people are brought to book. For pity’s sake, these are OUR birds, introduced by donations and taxes. That is, your and my taxes and your and my donations.

So tired of hearing these stories of #raptorpersecution. I’ve seen these eagles flying over the river Arun it’s such an amazing sight. 🦅

One of the missing is a chick born in West Sussex. In September its tag was found in the River Rother, it had been cut off. The chick has not been found.

A deep-seated culture of entitlement exists in Great Britain’s landowning class. This enables them and their serfs to indulge in criminal behaviour that the rest of us wouldn’t dream of. That these crimes are wrought against OUR birds is indicative of the contempt in which the rest of us is held.

Yet more birds of prey getting depressed, killing themselves, removing their satellite tags, then disposing of their own corpses. It's hard to believe, but the statistics don't like.

Either that or the shooting industry is involved. But that's a stretch of the imagination too far.

Of course the other thing that happened in the 1970s, which this article is too polite to mention, is that hunting otters with dogs (what fun!) was made illegal.

No doubt some grifter at the Telegraph bemoaned the passing of a Great Country Custom at the time.
