Got off the phone with Gillibrand's office, and she supports blockchain-based restrictions on ICE and would like to replace DHS with a new quota backed stablecoin called EXCLUSIONACTcoin

Current top comment about GasTown. Why might a large multinational financial firm have a large and complex IT organization? Good luck auditing code you didn't write with agents you can't possibly understand. It's always Paul to Damascus. "I showed him Opus 4.5 and the scales fell from his eyes!"

Kokuho looks incredible, and squeezes the aesthetics, tension, and beauty of is kabuki into every frame. But the literal script and overwrought direction drain the poetry from the film.

I've talked to people on the ground about the strike here tomorrow, and the single thing everyone brings up is just how shockingly wide the support for the strike is. Businesses that no one would have expected to support it are doing so.
National media should really be covering the fact thay every major school, museum, and arts institution in the Twin Cities, and hundreds of local businesses are closed tomorrow to protest federal occupation.

Nothing like this at this scale has happened anywhere in America anytime in living memory.

Genuinely insane we are living in a world where the Danish have to deploy a battlegroup to protect themselves against America. Makes my blood turn molten, honestly

It's so exhausting to to be constantly told by American leaders that the defining policy of the 80 odd years during which the US became the most wealthy and powerful country in the history of the world was a grossly unfair failure for them.
US trade secretary Howard Lutnick really not mincing his words here at Davos: "We are here to make a v clear point: globalisation has failed the West and the USA. It's a failed policy. It's what the WEF has stood for, which is, export, offshore, find the cheapest labour in the world."

Joshua Henry was fantastic in Waitress, Into the Woods, and Shuffle Along but he absolutely fucking crushes Ragtime. 2025 cast album is a real pleasure

Billy, this is a Georgist land tax. It targets economic rent from land. It’s Pareto-efficient and non-distortionary. Its defect is that it is political suicide.

Finished Pluribus. Lot of fun. But angiosperms have explicitly evolved for their fruit to be eaten by animals for seed dispersal! By refusing to eat the apple, the hive mind is actually displeasing the trees

Realizing I don't have a consistent review framework. What do you mean Amadeus is 3.5 and the Stiller & Meara documentary is a 3? Amadeus is amazing, incredible performances, a delight to watch. Siller & Meara was fine. Only half a star more? What am I doing?

Saw No Other Choice today and what a way to start 2026. Few people are making movies like Park Chan-wook; similar to Decision To Leave, I'll be thinking about this one for a long time.
