Screw off WaPo.

Editorial board says Trump is allowed to foment insurrection because it's protected speech, and the J6 rebellion wasn't a criminal result of his words.

That's like saying a robber's "hand over the cash while I'm still calm" was free speech, and the teller was *just being generous*.

It KILLS ME that with any other tech, we would demand to know the cost per unit of output - dollars and environmental impact - but AI investors DGAF!

OK, in 1965 it cost $100 to solve a function on a computer you can solve in Excel today for a fraction of a cent - but we weren't using them as TOYS!

Most of the current conflict between the world's two remaining superpowers seems to be about who should control the great crucible that contains a million tiny suns that can forge from sand the components of a superintelligent demigod whose resource demands are eschatological in their mammon greed.

Middle Class and Mid-Income are different. If you want a number, Pew defines it as between 2/3 and 2x median income, but it's better to define it qualitatively.

To me, the middle class are people who can afford to buy TIME (household help: nannies, maids). The more time you buy, the more MC you are

Which leads me to the corollary conclusion:

If you are a game whose desired gamescape is creativity, preparation, curiosity and exploration and their application.

If you still insist in having tactical skirmish combat be a part of that.

The desired gamescape elements HAVE to impact said combat.

Since Trump overthrew Maduro he hasn't shut the fuck up about bombing Mexico & Cuba and stealing Greenland. He feels emboldened. We need a wall of resistance and a backlash like he's never seen or he'll keep marauding looting and pillaging his way to the 4th reich.

Because I left Twitter, folks can't see my history of advocacy for this. In every session 0, I ask what your character would risk their life for. That’s exactly what adventuring is. So why would you do it? What's more important than your own life? Your answer drives the conflict and sets stakes.
Reframing my GM mindset from “challenge comes from threatening the PCs’ lives” to “challenge comes from threatening their goals” has made my experience at the table more fun.

The tension can come from the chance of them completing their goals rather than the possibility of death.

“Well… we can’t just keep filing impeachment articles all the time.”

Yes you can! If the man is committing impeachable offenses on the regular, you’re acquiescing to a standard that raises the bar for impeachable offense to absurd levels.
How are voters meant to understand how serious things are if in lieu of shouting fire AND going into building with hoses, you're simply posting fire safety suggestions on social media?
Not introducing articles of impeachment is a message that Trump hasn't committed impeachable offenses.

The GOP is redefining affordability to their base as “taxes.” IMHO this is an attempt to set someone up for 2028 so they can say they’re gonna cut tariffs & taxes to make everything more affordable. That’s a clearer plan than anything the centri-crats are willing to commit to, so it might even win.
The fact that the public *overwhelmingly* wants the actual price level to fall, and for prices to go down across the board is important info about public opinion, but also more than a little tricky to try to implement!

The Democrats are falling into a serious trap. Especially with Gavin Newsom.

The 2028 GOP candidate will either be Trump — in which case it’s a Civil War, not an election — or someone else from the GOP who will say, “Trump was wrong. My plan is to CUT taxes.”

So stop running against Trump!

I think it’s fine if the Democrats want to run on affordability as long as they campaign on a clear and plausible solution. You can’t win just by saying the other guy did it it’s not my fault. Vote for me.
