“Evil, I think, is the absence of empathy. “ Husband. Parent. Believer in defending democracy, loving your neighbor (which includes strangers), and vehemently against fascism. Fight the fights worth fighting, not just the ones we think we can win.

When you succumb to the cynicism, you are helping Trump. He wants you to think that all is lost, that he is all powerful, and that there is nothing we can do.

The fight for democracy is hard, but it is worth having. We have shown we can stand tall. We have shown we can win.
Many of you have become drama-addicted doomers, and you seem to think it's important for the rest of us to join you.

Yes, things are bad. But change is within our power. Grow up. Act like sober, responsible adults in a democracy instead of cynical, all-is-lost teenagers.

Now get off my lawn.

If you need a reason to call or write your state’s elected officials, this is it. Don’t wait. Do it now. Schedule a weekly reminder in your phone. It will apply incredible pressure esp withholding federal taxes…

We evacuated our kids out of Minneapolis this weekend and my spouse reports that as she drove them out of town she saw "multiple freeway exits where people are being pulled over." It feels like the Twin Cities is being subjugated by a hostile occupying force.

“Fascism thrives on indifference and ignorance.” It was as true in 1945 as it is today. Thanks @hcrichardson.bsky.social for the historical context and explanation.

The congressional switchboard number is (202) 224-3121. Put it in your cell phone. Use it. If you're not calling at least once a week, you're not doing your part.

This is how every headline in America should read...
US Authoritarian Regime Executes Unarmed Civilian as Ruler Grows More Erratic, Isolated

What if we wrote about events in Trump’s America in the way that Western media describe African and Middle Eastern countries?

While there are still many Americans who are rejecting the evidence of their eyes and ears at the command of the MAGA party, in today's Letter, @hcrichardson.bsky.social demonstrates just how important it is to communicate, gather quickly, and stand against tyranny, while recording everything.

NEW: Data released by ICE shows that virtually the entire growth of detention in the last few months has been among people with no criminal record at all - no prior convictions (no matter how minor) and no pending criminal charges.

In today’s Letter, @hcrichardson.bsky.social describes the ongoing subordination of our democracy and the murder of an unarmed US citizen and mother by the criminal regimes shock troops, ICE. This is me. This is you. We must stand together against this tyranny or we will all fall.

I am impeaching Secretary Kristi Noem, who is an incompetent leader and a disgrace to our democracy.

She wreaked havoc in the Chicagoland area and has brought her reign of terror to Minneapolis. One of her rogue ICE agents shot and killed an innocent woman today. It must come to an end.

In today’s Letter, @hcrichardson.bsky.social remembers Jan 6th. Remember who incited it. Remember that the will of the people in what remains of this democracy is extremely powerful in the face of minority rule. We can exert our right to protest & overcome nearly any obstacle. Remember this: try.

I love this for ICE. Being cruel and careless has consequences.
“No room at the Inn” is a biblical reference about immigrants (Jesus’ parents) being turned away. Not the government. Way to go, Hilton! The 3rd Amendment protects private entities from having to house the government.

Take a look at this curated version. Try not to fall out of your chair. It's staggering. Perhaps not surprising, but staggering nonetheless.
Yes. And I spent this weekend curating the 34 most important exchanges in the Jack Smith testimony here youtube.com/live/6a1TCDY... and then filed a response to DoJ in federal court over release of the Epstein redaction training videos here youtube.com/live/c3NVDAQ...
Two things were happening as Trump decided to launch his imperial strike on Venezuela. One was the DOJ filing w/the court explanations for their redactions in the Epstein files they released. The other was Jim Jordan’s release of the transcript of Jack Smith’s testimony.

So I read the transcript.

You know what's amazing about Maduro and Venezuela. The unredacted Epstein Files still haven't been released in accordance with the law.
The oil robbery at the expense of our troops isn't the distraction. But the timing is.

I agree. The statements by the MAGA regime also mean that China & Russia will now feel freer to take more direct action against Korea, Japan, Taiwan & eastern Europe respectively since America will now be "focused" on illegal military attacks on South America. The world is much more dangerous now.
I absolutely HATE it when Marjorie Taylor Greene makes sense.

In today's Letter, @hcrichardson.bsky.social dives into the lunacy of the illegal attack of Venezuela. As the perversion of the co-equal branches of government and shredding of the Constitution continues, a reminder that the people of the US still have the power. If we use it by rising up together.
