The usually affable Hague has pulled out his Tory election crib sheet, 11th hour nastiness which soils a good humoured and courteous campaign by Peter and, until now, all the other candidates. Reminiscent of when he turned on Ken Clarke rather nastily in 97 leadership contest.

One of the 1st responsibilities of journalists is to check their sources. There are way too many examples of ‘grassroots’ organisations whose motives, links and funders go unchecked when their views are reported in our media. It’s a very serious problem. www.theguardian.com/society/2024...

I have faced fascism before, in this very country. I was one of 120,000 Japanese Americans summarily rounded up and expelled from our homes at gunpoint, all for the crime of looking like the people who bombed Pearl Harbor.
