I guess what I'm trying to tell you is, I love my new Spirited Away bento box, which I purchased from @mzspress.bsky.social and @mattzollerseitz.bsky.social, and I'm going to use this literally everyday for lunch whether I'm home or not. mzs.press/HO-HO-Holida...

I'm going to watch this, point at the screen, and loudly shout to nobody "I follow her on BlueSky and subscribe to her Patreon!" And then I'll probably bump my knee on the coffee table or something.
One final bump for my TCM program tonight. I hope you'll be able to check it out. Love y'all.
My prime time program with TCM on November 17th covers Robert Altman's COME BACK TO THE FIVE AND DIME and the Gay Bar Christmas Picture SOME OF MY BEST FRIENDS ARE. SOME OF MY BEST FRIENDS ARE doesn't screen anywhere very often and doesn't have a DVD in circulation.

They had this game at the bowling alley near where I grew up. We used to play this every chance we got. It was so loud in there that we couldn't hear the music, until one day my friend listened closely and noticed "they're playing Eat the Rich!" Then we realized it was an Aerosmith game.
It rules that they made an arcade game about a dystopian police state that can only be toppled by the revolutionary spirit and dangerous lyrics of the music of Aerosmith. 1984 is solved by Love in an Elevator.

Somebody please give Jon Hamm a good role again. I can't keep seeing him in every ad that runs on TV.

I legit don't want this series to end. Ever. I just want it to get crazier and crazier.

I volunteer with CHiPS. The Trump administration cut our national funding pretty severely earlier this year, so the impending increase in demand is going to compound that earlier problem. Any donations would be a huge help!
Brooklynites: with SNAP benefits expiring as of today, here are two ways you can help feed neighbors: donate to CHiPS, the food pantry/ women's shelter in Park Slope: www.chipsonline.org. Or leave food in the community fridge on 6th Street between 4th and 5th avenues, next to the Postmark Cafe.

The whole world needs to read Derf Backderf's Kent State graphic novel. It's a vital work that really drops the reader into what happened, and how it happened. It's meticulously researched and will inform you as much about today as it does about this historical event.

I'm a bit late to posting this, but @goatsflyingpress.com are really, really good at making things and fulfilling Kickstarters. All this stuff I got from them is awesome.

Hell yes. In general, Reds should be talked about a lot more than it is, Diane Keaton was incredible in it.
My favorite performance of hers is-- not surprisingly given the book I'm currently finishing-- as the powerful, enigmatic, difficult, reporter and critic Louise Bryant in REDS. I think she steals the film. No easy feat with Warren Beatty and Jack Nicholson as co-stars.

This is a key point, whether we're talking about toxic fans or fascist governments. There's nothing you can concede to them that will make them leave you alone. They'll just keep demanding more. They don't get satiated.
And the problem is, and we see this at all strata of society now, but particularly with the unhappy tech nerds who run the world, for these people nothing is ever enough. They cannot be appeased, because the hole inside them is too deep and dark to be filled.

Post a fictional comedian who definitely would accept an invitation to the Riyadh Comedy Festival.

I've been watching Mr. Robot for the first time, and I do enjoy the fact that it's a show that is willing to stop whatever it's doing and do things like this every now and again just because. youtu.be/7reSylaSH_A?...

Young Bruce Wayne, as nasally and whiny as anyone you've ever heard: "Because it's too haaarrrdd! I wanna go back to bed!"

I love the original Mystique design. White long dress with slits all the way up to her waist, a belt made of skulls and another skull on her forehead at her hairline just because. Great stuff. If I could shapeshift, I'd just go around looking like this all the time.

Besides all the creative solutions people are discussing, there’s one thing everyone can do:

M A S K
COVID vaccines-which saved 1.4 million lives 2020-2024 (jamanetwork.com/journals/jam...) won't be easy to get now, though the disease still kills 100 people weekly. Today FDA changed approval to cover only senior citizens; kids/adults w/ health problems will have to jump thru unknown hoops.🧪🩺
COVID Vaccines Are Still Saving Lives—But They Will Be Harder to Get This Year
Many questions still surround COVID vaccine access this fall, but here’s what we know so far
