Just a quick reminder that when Miyazaki said that AI-created animation was "an insult to life itself" he was speaking not just about humans abdicating the act of creation, but also of the moral obscenity that flows from the work of a robotic "creator" with no understanding of human dignity or pain.
I don't know whether you saw the clip, but Miyazaki talks about how the simulated zombie reminds him of a disabled friend, which is the context behind "insult to life itself"

Stopped at a coffee shop to grab something and while waiting I see this adorable couple, probably teens, one with dyed red hair, the other blue, and the guy’s got an INVADER ZIM bag. They had no idea who I was and that infuriated me, like what the FUCK?! I threw hot coffee at them and stole the bag.
