6 years ago, Insurgent Aesthetics came into the world 💙🛩️📚 I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has lifted this work. The communities formed around these ideas mean the world to me, even as I feel undone by the book’s continued relevance to the criminal disorder of things.

Anyway a great way to radicalize people is for them to realize that you just abandoned their chance at being able to access and afford health care because you didn’t like waiting in line at the airport.

I reached a deal with the burglar. He gets to keep all of my possessions that he can carry and I get to call the police one hour after he leaves.

If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

And this is why the corporate class shut down Teen Vogue.
WOW. 81% of women 18-29 voted for Mamdani, 80% for Sherril, and 78% for Spanberger.

Gen Z women aren't playing around.

I’m gutted by this decision. So many excellent editors and writers impacted. My column, Disability Visibility is no more as well. Many thanks to Allegra for giving me this amazing opportunity www.teenvogue.com/contributor/...

People often push the disabled to take risks with our health.

They think if it’s already “that bad” who cares if it gets worse

We care.

Our baselines mean everything to us.

Whatever limited function we have left is always worth protecting.

You don’t get it until you get it.

Best reader 2 report I've ever gotten!:
"The ms. practices what it theorizes, building an affective & sensorial register around suffocation, stagnation, & collective respiration. The prose formally enacts the conditions it names, esp in its attention to tempo, repetition, & refusal of closure."

Every day we get vivid reminders that we live in an utterly deranged society that enacts the most depraved violence on the wretched of the earth. Then we’re supposed to go on with the day to day knowing that we are (seemingly) outnumbered by ppl who are ignorant or unbothered by these conditions.

I came across the epilogue to my first book today; there are some gems in here from the Trump 1.0 era that feel eerily resonant with our current moment. I hope sharing this out will help folks trying to connect the dots & offer some critical inspo in these dreary times. Link in next post.

For non-US folks: IDEA is the rule that dictates that disabled kids are to have equal opportunities for a public education. Taking away the people who fund and enforce it is basically leaving disabled kids and their families to fend for themselves.
Vought’s daughter has cerebral palsy, and while she may not require “special” education, she would need adjustments if she attended any school.

Obviously, he is evil and does not care about hypocrisy, but I want people to remember: they’re taking this away from US, not themselves.
There are reports that the *entire* office of special education at the US Dept of Education has been cut. These hardworking folks ensure kids with disabilities get equal access to a quality education.

America’s children deserve better than this.
