Overdrive (and its loser app Libby) exist bc of tax dollars they receive overcharging libraries for digital books. most of us do not have the option to stop using Libby but we should make it clear their policies about AI are bullshit and we are not stupid.

Strange takes on Mayor Zamdani swearing his oath on the Qu’ran. It has nothing to do with church & state. The point of the oath is for the person swearing in to do so upon some text that is sacred TO THEM. Some Presidents swore in w/o any book. John Quincy Adams was sworn on a law book. His choice.

Honestly, this is why the whole concept of “fossils” in workplace romance bothers me. I think they’ve show has done a great job with limited hockey scenes, but I think it has also allowed people to not fully get how central hockey is to these characters entire EXISTENCES.
Again, I truly *loved* this week’s episode of Heated Rivalry, but IT IS A WISH FULFILLMENT ROMANCE. The success of a gay hockey romance TV show, largely watched by people who are neither hockey players nor hockey fans, is not “proof that the world is ready and all we would do is love you”

It’s really a thing to be at the same phase of life of so many of the authors you are reading, because woof, I have felt SEEN in so many of the books that are about pre-grieving your parents this year.
