Exactly this.
The US won the geopolitical lottery having Canada and Mexico as neighbors. This kind of offensive nonsense is doing so much damage, not just to America's standing in the world, but to our security.
Trump: "When you take away that artificial line that looks like it was done by a ruler ... you look at that beautiful formation of Canada and the US, there is no place anywhere in the world that looks like that. And then if you add Greenland, that's pretty good."

out of all the bullshit Musk trotted out on Rogan, this is the chunk that's still rattling around my skull the next day... literally circumventing a safety rule for white men, and only white men, is the perfect example of how anti-meritocratic racism is, even when human lives are on the line
"A lot of really qualified air traffic controllers were pushed out because of DEI stuff. I mean, not to, to be blunt, a bunch of white, a bunch of really good, talented old white guys were pushed out. It's not cool," Musk says

so, um, mandatory retirement ages are DEI... when applied to white guys?

Mars climate scientist here. The oceans won't just return. We don't have a good explanation for how Mars had oceans when it did have a thick atmosphere in the paleo record billions of years ago. Everything in the last few months should prove that Musk is an idiot and knows nothing about anything.
he's really so stupid and I can't stand it. if you warmed up mars and melted the water, the water would evaporate into space. Mars can't have a habitable atmosphere in its current state bc it has no magnetic field. solar winds strip away everything that isn't stuck to the surface.

Elon Musk's only profitable company, Tesla, has created a cumulative grand total net income of $34 billion in its more than 20 years of existence.

That's less than the total amount of US federal subsidies his empire has collectively received.

The economics of Elon Musk are as bad as the politics.

Here's a thread 🧵

By 2100, in the worst-case scenario, the oil company sees global warming peaking at 2.2C. In the most ambitious, it comes back down to 1.3C. www.shell.com/news-and-ins...
