I will reduce my reading here for the foreseeable future. The political garbage wafting from the states is enough to deal with already, I can't process the American "that's illegal" circlejerk that's unfortunately highly prevalent here as well.
If you want to keep in touch, dm me or something.

I'd like to learn more about "dying" meta-analysis but I'm afraid that's not happening.
Want to learn more about "living" meta-analysis? Have a listen to this episode (from about the 22 min mark) or read this recent preprint osf.io/preprints/ps...
195: Living meta-analysis everythinghertz.com/195

We discuss how living meta‑analyses can cut research waste and keep evidence current. We also chat about how using synthetic research participants is a terrible idea and what researchers *really* mean when they call a study "recent".

As I stare blankly at numerous conference deadlines, I renew my hot take that academic associations should only hold conferences every-other-year. This would reduce the ridiculous publicaion cycle pressure, ease the reviewer crisis, increase overall affordability, and reduce environmental impact.

NEW article by me!

We can now visualize pathogens down to atoms; design vaccines in weeks; manufacture them in microbial factories; engineer them more precise than ever before.

We're living through a golden age of vaccine development, but only if we continue to invest in them.
The golden age of vaccine development - Works in Progress Magazine
The first vaccine was a lucky accident. Now we can design new vaccines in weeks, atom by atom.

"Half the country is helpless to stop him"
United States is being run by a madman.

Half the country is cheering him on.

Half the country is helpless to stop him.

The world is watching in horror.

The assumption underlying activism on social media is that blowing hot air into a bubble will make it burst eventually, at least it seems that way to me.

Giving the gift of negative data 🥰

Since I joined @lsajournal.org I have handled several stellar manuscripts that report null results. These papers do very well and reviewers almost always appreciate them!

Thanks @rockefeller.edu news team for the article!
