There isn’t any law in this country that requires you to provide proof of citizenship on the interior, but unfortunately ICE is racially profiling.
And they don’t care if you say you’re a US citizen.

The scary bit is that the Trump admin only cares about student loans and punishing borrowers because Biden tried to help them. Punishing people just because the opposition tried to help them is a recurring theme with the current GOP.
I’m sure this will be popular. 5 million people are in default right now. The Dept of Ed estimates as many as 10 million by end of next year because of job market.
