There aren't a lot of reviews out for KEEPER yet because Neon didn't screen it very widely, but I was randomly lucky enough to get into see it for The Guardian and it seems like I liked it more than most! Simple stuff, well done, with pervasive eeriness. www.theguardian.com/film/2025/no...
Keeper review – romance goes to hell in effectively eerie horror
Longlegs director Osgood Perkins takes us on a dark journey to the woods in a creepy and visually inventive nightmare with a killer lead performance

I’ve seen several Godzilla flicks in the theater over the past few years and you can feel, viscerally, that we are all praying for Godzilla to rise from the sea and give us what we deserve

I thought the controversial choice I made here would involve PREDATORS (2010) but so far the commenters think it involves THE PREDATOR (2018). Both of which are good!

My last review at Paste is for a really good one. TRAIN DREAMS starts its pre-Netflix theatrical run today and it's worth seeing out in the world. www.pastemagazine.com/movies/clint...
Train Dreams Chronicles the Quiet Passage of History and Loss of Time
Clint Bentley's Train Dreams, adapted from a Denis Johnson novella, sends Joel Edgerton on a quiet yet monumental 20th century journey.

I enjoyed PREDATOR: BADLANDS because it seems like it was made by someone who made had some of the same conversations @jonkern.bsky.social and I have had after watching Predator movies (though the movie's answers are more earnestly dorky). www.pastemagazine.com/movies/dan-t...
The Predator Series Softens Its Claws As It Enters the Fun Badlands
After several R-rated installments, Predator: Badlands takes the long-running series into PG-13 territory with a human-free sci-fi adventure.

They say that Cuomo can't get elected dogcatcher in this town but I for one would like to see him try and then get humiliated by Curtis Sliwa

Say what you will about Cuomo but he understands coalition-building. The city's many dorks and creeps are united in support.

Godzilla represents a desire in all of us for our reputation to shift from being seen as a villain to a good guy while changing our behaviour in no way, shape or form.

E's costume received the highest possible compliment: multiple teenage girls going "are you Bill Cipher?!? That's awesome!!"

Happy Halloween! Voted early for Zohran Mamdani, though it could be confusing because my shirt does have what I understand to be Cuomo's campaign slogan.

I still think Twitter is unfortunately much funnier on average but on the other hand I feel safer here in posting that I find it incredibly cringeworthy how many mutuals on the other site refer to a comedian they listened to on a horrible-sounding podcast as "Stavvy" like they're all college buddies

One thing I miss about Rough Trade NYC being in North Brooklyn is that I blind-bought records from them sometimes and once in a while I'd get a Caroline Rose out of the deal. Love their stuff, loved their solo show tonight!

BONE LAKE, BLACK PHONE 2, and SHELBY OAKS... just a stunning run of horrible wide-release horror cinema. So glad I got to see INFLUENCERS in the middle of it.

It's impossible for me to truly dislike MARY SHELLEY'S FRANKENSTEIN because it makes sense for at least one Frankenstein movie to be directed by an egomaniac ultimately ill-equipped to manage his creation.
