Fed society goobers like kavanaugh have basically been tabletop gamers arguing about line of sight rules in Warhammer 40k for decades, but then they finally caught the car, and that theory is now informing state practice. They’re (appropriately) terrified by the outcome
Interesting that Justice Kavanaugh decided he had to add footnote 4 to his concurrence, which addresses the "State’s underlying objections to the activities of federal immigration officers when they make immigration stops."
