Today I wrote about a general tendency to accept atrocious premises, and the need to reject fascism's false choices in order to find expansive and imaginative paths forward.

Breaking the premise, embracing the obstacles, pursing everything.

There Is No Trolley Problem
We actually aren't constrained into atrocious premises by thought exercises. Obstacles are a reason to fight, not an excuse to quit. Our friends and neighbors aren't distractions..

@kaine.senate.gov @markwarner.bsky.social Virginia citizen, voter, and lifelong leftist here. Vote no on cloture and the republican budget bill. A shutdown will be bad but they have to own it and this lets Musk do whatever he wants. Stop them.

Yeah. We don’t want to do that!
I’m sorry too! The last thing I would want is to expose Rick Santorum to charges of being Putin’s useful idiot!

Wow. Another GOP in a solidly red district ventures out of the GOP DC bubble to the real world where everyone hates DOGE. He immediately switches to lying about BILL Clinton doing his own DOGE. Smoked
Listen to the reaction when GOP Rep. Keith Self (who just won his district near Dallas with 62% of the vote) utters “the DOGE program” to his packed town hall today.

I sincerely don’t know why people aren’t physically stopping those dorks. Move shit. Lock doors. Lose the keys. Everyone switch seats. Turn off all the lights. Switch the signs on the elevator lobby. Make the settings all silly. Use a different language. Wear costumes. Fill rooms with balloons

Why do we need a foreign PM to explain how bad these tariffs are going to be for Americans? Well @democrats.org?
The clearest explanation of tariffs I’ve ever heard
Did not realize this address from Trudeau was going to be aimed at us

Hard to say what drives me more insane about "What Americans want is for us to come together" as a strategy, that it has been tried repeatedly and doesn't work or that it's not even a true statement.

I mean wtaf is wrong with this man?!
Again: Trump just ordered 2 dams open to levels that would’ve flooded areas and farms, without warning, all to back up the lies he told about the fires — and the rivers don’t even flow to LA.

Locals panicked and they backed off.

Too bad we don’t have one…

The are so many things/ people I’m going to miss after tomorrow, but Lina Khat at FTC is going to be at the top of my list. The sad part is I don’t think most people know what we’re losing there.

The staggering incompetence of the Ds is so infuriating… they just bungle stuff like this all the time. Garland and Smith not prosecuting the Orange Menace and a million other fails.
He signed the bill that made it happen and now democrats have to live with the consequences of more “bipartisanship” that only hurts them
I brought this up in class last week and was surprised by how many of my students thought Biden personally banned TikTok with Congress playing little or no role.

Good man, bad president.

It might be too soon for you to read this, if you're having fond memories, but I encourage you to bookmark and revisit. It's quite the history lesson.
