Human civilization is in rapid decline. What do young people even look forward to? Am I over-reacting when I say things are really bleak right now? Politics, climate, poverty, war. What the hell are we doing?

I'm going to meditate on compassion because I feel like I hate everyone right now.

Since everyone is rightly focused on the Epstein files, now would be a good time to remind you:

Child marriage is legal in 34 states across the US. That’s almost 70% of this nation.

How about we end that?

Not soon enough.
“How soon?” asked Toad.

“Quite soon,” said Frog.

Oof. I just finished reading The Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler. It's a fantastic book, but it's also dark and difficult, and I feel drained, like it took something out of me. If you want to feel miserable and are in the mood for dystopian fiction, I recommend this book.

Three things to do today:

1. Make sure you have beneficiaries listed on all your accounts

2. Declutter two things and offer them on Buy Nothing

3. Do you have any food in your fridge that will go bad soon? Make a plan to eat it this weekend

I never thought I'd live in a world where pedophile apologists didn't get punched in the face the first time they opened their mouths in defence of people who rape children.
Old enough to remember when raping children was a dealbreaker in politics.
November 14, 2025 at 1:08 AM
The "well, actually" crowd wrapped up in the pedantics of what specific sort of child rapists we are talking about can fuck all the way off. Some people are more irritated that we're using the wrong child rapist descriptor than they are upset over the actual child rapes. WTF is wrong with people?
Playing semantics or well actually with pedophilia is a motherfucking choice

I read mostly mystery and fantasy, and I love the classics, but a good book is a good book. Genre doesn't matter to me. Most of what I read happens in the past, the future, or in a different world. If we have similar tastes in books, tell me how to find you on StoryGraph.

How sick is it that this must be at least partly true.
how stupid is it the “glass ceiling” probably just turned out to be “donors want dudes they can blackmail, not competent people who are good at their jobs”

#BookSky, do you more commonly read one book at a time, or do you like to have several on the go at once?

What are you reading?

Right now, I'm reading three books and, without having finished them yet, I would recommend them so far, so I'm sharing them here. This one is dark. 1/3

A BS bookish person recommended The Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler. What a read! I'm at the end of ch. 12. It's bleak. If you like reading books that will depress you about the state of the world, fictional or real, this is perfect for you. I can't put it down.

Of course not. Poilievre has his head stuck so far up his own arse he couldn't change course if he wanted to.

Press: In light of the crappy job you're doing as leader and losing your own seat, and that 2 MP's have left your caucus, do you plan to change your leadership style?

Is The Elder Scrolls VI ever going to happen? I'm tired of waiting. I'm old. Will I die before it's released? Probably. Also, fuck whoever decided Elder Scrolls Legends needed to end.

I don't understand what is so complicated about this. While the destruction of those animals was unfortunate, it was necessary. The farmers not reporting the infection was inexcusable. How dare they play with the health of their fellow Canadians this way? The culling of the ostriches was necessary.
Pretty solid video laying out why we cull for H5N1.

I am shooting my shot.

I love writing op-eds.

@teenvogue.com was my main outlet, but if there are any others (especially independently ran) that are looking for a contributing writer on race, gender, and the economy, I'd love to work with you.

So Poilievre turned questions about changing his leadership style or if he learned anything from caucus departures and turned it into attacks on the reporters who asked.

So that’s a hard no. 🤣🤣🤦‍♂️

Fans of Cold War spy stories will love this, fiction and non-fiction readers alike: a true story that reads like any of the best spy novels. Ben MacIntire's story telling takes facts and events and builds a tense, suspenseful story woven together well and presented nicely.

🌱 This is my Philodendron billietiae. Its leaves can grow 2 to 3' long. The last new leaf was 7" rolled and hardened off to just a squeak past 9". Click the pic. This new one is 9" rolled! If this one gets to 10" once matured, I bet this plant gets its first foot long leaf by Christmas!

Whoa! This book is so good! I'll definitely finish it tonight. I am anxious to see what happens next because shit is about to get intense. I can feel it.

Go read this book. It's informative, tense, exciting, and an interesting behind-the-scenes look at the Cold War spy world.

I just finished ch. 11 of The Spy and the Traitor by Ben MacIntyre, and things are heating up!

If you like a good spy story, this is it! It's as good as any spy fiction favourite, but this one is a true story.

Taking recommendations on other good spy stories!

Why is the late-diagnosed neurodivergent experience so constantly this?

We're "othered" our whole lives, then when we finally understand ourselves, embrace our "otherness," accept and work with our differences, people can't wait to to claim we were never different to begin with.

#ActuallyAutistic
Neurodivergence is being mocked your whole life for being "weird" because you're different, then after years of social trauma finally learning to embrace your differences only to be told "everyone is like that, you're not special" 😒🤦‍♀️
