Australian, 40-something (he/him) coder of Games & Stuff until the Industry took an Arrow to the Knee.

Looking for what's next, whilst making vids on old games & more.

I guess it's intro time, right?

Name's Rob. I'm primarily a programmer (gameplay &UI), but I'm also big into exploring gaming's past - which I do by making videos about them.

Looking forward to meeting cool folks!

If you want everything I'm up to, it's all here: https://linktr.ee/hellfire64

MANUALS will always be GOATee for me.

I miss cracking open a good manual to read while installing, or loading a game.

The march of environmental progress has lost something.

Plus, they’re important for me to have on hand when I cover stuff - that’s typically why I cover stuff I have copies of.
I'm older than you so I can confirm that they came with a little book that had the tutorial in it and you read it on the way home

#Roguecraft DX not only expands upon the Amiga update to Rogue64, but it brings it over to the #GBColor and more excitedly, the #Mega65!

So time to get back to the dungeons and see how a 16-bit upgrade is squeezed onto some 8-bits.

I don’t think ppl understand the whole “who cares if nobody likes it! make content for yourself” is extremely dismissive
Bc we ARE making the content for ourselves but it feels /bad/ when people don’t engage or show interest. You can care about both at the same time

It's rather neat to see the news that EGG CONSOLE is making its way to Steam.

Obviously the language barrier will be hit and miss for stuff (unsurprising), but there's been some neat gems where it won't get in the way.

Plus less faffing about to play some of these gems in their OG forms too!
big EGG Console news: the line's coming to Steam (not a console, but who's counting), starting with Hydlide 3 (PC88) on Feb.25

icymi, EGG Console's an emulated reissue series of vintage Japanese computer games, spun off from the decades-old JP PC subscription service Project EGG
EGGCONSOLE HYDLIDE3 PC-8801mkIISR on Steam
The final chapter of the Hydlide series, a fantasy action RPG. As an adventurer, can you save the fairy kingdom once more?

Can’t say I’m a fan of this agent BS.

Maybe I’m just being me, but I wouldn’t want to try one of them submitting patches - and these “personalities” - AAAH!

I don’t want those fuckers to replace me with a click!

Surprised MGS Master Collection 2 only has the three games, but I guess MGS4 was so darn big!

Happy for some love for MGS/Ghost Babel, absolutely one of the the crowns of the GBC library finally getting some form of reissue/acknowledgement/anything.

This is horrendous, yet unsurprising.

Caught a snippet of the police side on the news this morning - as always pushing the usual claims, but man, I was already suss about them, and reading this confirms it.

Utterly senseless and cowardly.
"This was planned. And Chris Minns owns it ... I was there".

Andrew Brown with the extraordinary story of NSW Police brutality at the Herzog protest.

While the premier - to great applause - said "Thank you friends" to the Israel Lobby.
